To Tamaran

After Mary Jane was taken, the Titans wasted no time pursuing Blackfire. They quickly arranged to borrow a larger Javelin for the Justice League to take the team to Tamaran, and before long, the team were flying towards their destination. Naturally, Gwen had joined the team on their journey, determined to rescue her best friend.

"How's Kori doing, Dick?" Cassie asked as Nightwing emerged from the corner of the the ship's bridge, where he had been talking to Starfire.

"Focused. She wasn't really in a talking mood, though. I don't think I've ever seen her so determined before -- or as angry. I'm a little worried she'll do something reckless, to be honest..."

Dick and Kori had formed a very strong friendship over the years. In fact, when the Titans had originally formed, they'd even gone out on a couple of dates. Neither of them felt any real spark or romantic connection, though, so any sort of thoughts or ideas of a romantic relationship were quickly erased from both Titans' minds. The two formed a very strong platonic friendship after that, however -- Kori was thrilled for him when he got engaged to Carrie Gordon, the younger sister of Barbara Gordon, and even served as a groomswoman at his wedding.

"I can't say I blame her," Cassie said. "I've seen the way she & MJ look at each other. Seriously, getting between them is just plain stupid."

"Yeah, I almost feel bad for Blackfire. Almost." Gwen added.

"I just want to get MJ back with minimal damage -- but I doubt that'll happen. I know Kori's not going to hold back, and I doubt anything I say to her will change her mind. In any case, I'm heading to the cockpit to check on the nav systems," said Dick. He left the room, leaving Gwen and Cassie to continue the conversation on their own.

"Sounds like Kori's pissed," said Gwen. "Not gonna lie -- I just can't picture her angry."

"I've seen it before... Tamaraneans aren't shy about expressing their emotions. Usually Kori's the sweetest, most adorable person I know, but Komand'r really hit her where it hurts, going after MJ like this... Kori's going to be furious, and she's not going to go easy on her sister."

"Oh, I don't doubt that at all... I might not be able to imagine Kori angry, but I'm sure she'll wreck anyone who messes with MJ -- I've seen those two together, after all."

Cassie thought about Gwen's comment -- she'd not only seen up close how much Kori & MJ loved each other, she'd also spent a lot of time involved in their amorous activities as well. She wondered if Gwen had joined them in bed before as well... the thought definitely excited her.

"Cass?" Gwen said before Cassie could get too deep into thought about the fantasy.

Cassie quickly shook her head and turned back to the conversation. "Oh, I'm sorry, I guess I kinda spaced out for a second there. Yeah, those two can't keep their hands off of each other... I gotta admit, I'm kinda jealous."

"Really?" Gwen asked curiously.

"Not in a mean or a bitter way or anything," Cassie clarified. "I mean, I think it's awesome for them. I guess I kinda wanna find someone like that myself, y'know?"

"Hey, I totally get it," agreed Gwen. "You want someone who you can connect with -- you're not alone there."

"Yeah, I guess it's a universal thing," Cassie smiled at the pretty woman in front of her. Come to think of it, she and Gwen had really hit it off since first meeting...

Gwen then changed the subject to one she was extremely curious about. "So Cass I've gotta ask you about working with Wonder Woman."

"Oh, it's awesome. You hear all these stories about people meeting their heroes and how they never meet their expectations, but Diana's the total opposite -- she's even more amazing then you can imagine," gushed Cassie.

"Cool! That's what I'd hoped to hear. I see her on TV and in internet videos, and I'm just awed. She's so graceful, so badass... so dominant."

Dominant. When Gwen said that about Diana, Cassie zoned out again, thinking back to her first night with Diana on Themyscira, and Gwen, so busy effusively praising Diana, wasn't there to snap Cassie out of it...

"So, Gwen--" Cassie began, interrupted by Nightwing's voice over the PA system.

"We're about five minutes out from our drop zone on Tamaran. Time to get ready, team -- let's go save MJ."
