Chapter 41
by Kallitseren
Which line do you enter?
To Talk to Myrcella
You decide to talk to Myrcella instead of Shireen today, for whatever reason. Waiting in line, patiently, for several minutes, you watch as numerous courtiers and lords in front of you offer thanks and gratitude to Myrcella - you are certain you recognize Houses Rykker and Stokeworth, as well as numerous lesser nobles.
Eventually, once you reach the front of the line, you kneel in front of Myrcella, which results in you hearing a small laugh coming from her seat.
"It is getting a bit old for you to continue on in this manner, is it not?" she asks of you.
"I simply wish to extend my continued gratitude towards the lady who has provided for me my livelihood."
"Well rise then, sir, and allow me to see the gratitude in your eyes."
You stand up, looking straight at Myrcella's face, and her eyes meet yours, twinkling with glee.
"I hope you can see it now."
"I certainly can, sir, and I do hope I am able to see it for many years."
That last line sends some nervous butterflies in your stomach, and as you walk away, the last, almost-naughty smile she gave you is still imprinted upon your mind. Even as you reach your room, changing into your night clothes, lying down in your bed, that smile is what consumes your mind.
You try to fall asleep, but you struggle to do it. You get up from your bed and walk over to the door. Looking outside you see that the entire castle appears to have fallen silent, with not a scurry nor step to be heard.
