To Lake Mead

Madeline picked up the supplies from Jack. He explained that the devices needed to be placed at very specific parts under the plane, then detonated simultaneously with a trigger mechanism he supplied.

"Be safe out there." He said handing her the device. "All kinds of dangers."

"I will." Madeline said putting the equipment in her pack. "What happens once it gets raised up out of the water?"

"We will handle the rest. Our mechanics and pilots have been using the VR pods for decades preparing for this."

"Alright, I'll see you when the plane is floating."

Madeline headed off in the morning. It was a calm day, but the heat grew worse. That afternoon she made it to the shore.

As she neared the water a sudden splash drew her attention. Then she saw a giant monster like creature emerge, taller than a man--at least taller than her. It walked on two legs and its face looked sunken and pale. It looked like an old pre-war cinema creature from the Black Lagoon. But this was no film reel. It sent out a loud wail that rocked Madeline's head like a sudden ice-pick through her brain. It moved closer toward her, its fingered claws ready to cleave her flesh.
