Chapter 44 by Drakavius Drakavius

Where is Theo going?

To Investigate The Lights

“I am off to have a short pre-dawn walk. I see some flashing lights arrived alongside our guests. I thought I’d go see if there was something to look at.” Theo replied, tired and sardonically. He was hoping to get some answer to the visitors in the night with a short stroll.

Provided Fred wouldn’t be able to tell him more when he got back.

Out the back door, past the residence, along the sidewalk towards the street. Theo could still see the faint flash of siren lights in the already brightening outdoors. The night air was heavy with its cold damp weight trying to consolidate into a foggy haze.

The breeze gently rolled by with hardly a rustle of the trees as Theo stopped and shuddered at a sudden new chill. It seem to reach through all his layers and grab firmly onto his spine, squeezing a shiver up, down and out of the priest as he questioned not feeling the sudden chill upon first exiting the church.

It had been such a mild night. Theo thought to himself.

Pushing on Theo dismissed the chill, its bone trembling shiver dissipating as suddenly as it had occurred as he walked up the street, half a block to where the cops had the street the church was on closed off.

The officers seemed excessively bored, as they waved traffic to redirect around their closure, their uniform attire better suited to summer days than the mild night with that suddenly a piercing chill seemed to materialize and shake its way through Theo.

Approaching the police cruisers, Theo couldn’t help but notice the the lack of visible chill exhibited as he approached. The officers, their attention splitting from the slow idle traffic of the depths of night to the elder gentleman approaching casually.

The two nearest cops had been pressed together against a cruiser, appearing almost intimate before straightening their posture and conduct upon sensing the approachin priest.

“Good evening father.” A female officer spoke up tipping her hat while maintaining a strange social distance.

“Good evening Officer?” Theo responded and inquired, looking quite pointedly for his statement to be finished.

“Reeves sir.” She replied quite casually, almost too casually for the tension in her shoulders, Theo noted. His years of offering spiritual council had given him one thing above all else. A good read of body language.

Talking about body language he made note of the strangely contoured uniform, a few shirt buttons undone and a skirt instead of pants. In fact Theo would have easily taken her for a stripper parody of an officer, had it not been for the police cruiser.

Glancing at her male partner Theo surmised they weren’t exactly any different. Raising more incredibility for the two police as Theo stood before them.

The other two cops further away focusing on the cars they were turning around added a uniformity that undermined the suspicions the uniforms had raised in father Theo.

But still something seemed a miss. As he stepped ever closer he could visible see the tension in Officer Reeves seem to grow.

Not just Reeves, but her partner too...

“Officer Reeves, it seems a touch impersonal. Is there first name I might address you by?” Theo kindly inquired, hoping to ease the tension with a more personal touch before his inquiring questions.

“Annie.” The female officer replied, her brunette hair seeming to almost shimmer for a second in an iridescence of purple.

Annie’s whole being itched, the old familiar sensation feeling entirely unnatural to her recently acquired Demonic nature. Worse still, she could feel it suppressing her abilities. A slow pressure building up like a developing hangover from when the frequent highs she used to embrace started to wear off.

“Annie, are you okay? You and your partner look so tense.” Father Theo inquired with genuine care, unaware of how his spirit was reflexively reacting to the Demonic auras and energies emanating from the nearby Hotel’s desecration, not to mention the two demons before him.

“Its been a long chaotic night.” Annie replied with genuine honesty, feeling a slight relief as her lack of deception alleviated the spiritual friction bearing down on her. ”How might I serve you tonight?” Annie offered, wondering if the priest would enjoy her on her knees. Glancing to her partner she fought a smirk, the idea of maybe helping the priest skull fuck her male partner being more to their liking.

The double entendre tugged on the old priest's mind, reminding him of desires from yester year. Long forgotten, long forsaken, long sacrificed desires from yester year. Which strangely had surfaced, and seemed to surge in confusion.

More at just what they were, than where they’d come from.

“I was wondering if you might inform me why the road to my parish has been closed? I only ask as it seemed to occur just around the time a vehicle crashed before my church.” Theo inquired, pointing down the usually quiet road.

Annie nodded listening carefully, she sensed the slight hook her entendre had made. Her mind struggled with just how she could set one deeper in the man’s subconscious, admitting that the generation gap between them probably was the greatest barrier to most word play she was familiar with.

“Details are uh… Sparse still.” Annie stuttered trying to think of the excuse, most of the People she’d dealt with since her spiritual awakening would be glassy eyed and more distracted by her body at this point. But that didn’t mean lying was beyond her. She just knew she had to make it sound good.

Sighing deeply Annie looked around, back and forth amongst the others here. The bastards had actually drifted away from her and the priest. Enjoying the alleviation of tension from the belief this holy man obviously carried with him.

Pressing outwards and inwards on those it sought to protect him from.

Biting her lip, Annie tried to clear her thoughts, **** for some impression of what to say to infernally be imparted upon her soulless being.

“Look, we aren’t really sure yet. Its uh… well it’s a national security thing. They believe there might be some terrorists, and some sort of neurotoxin.” Yes, neurotoxin. Need something to create a wedge of belief. Annie excitedly thought as she felt the obvious touch of the Idol upon her mind, it listening more closely as it looked for those few souls that had escaped the hotels descent into sexual madness.

“Terrorists?” Theo had to admit, it was a bit shocking. But then again what developed country wasn’t grappling with social and sectarian division these days.

“Yes. We’ve been instructed to secure this area, communications out have been cut to avoid people within the exclusion zone," Annie was feeling so impressed with how this was coming together, the momentary increase in pressure from her lying seeming to dissipate as the Priest consciously accepted her words as believable. “We’re trying to avoid creating a panic as we get direction on how to vacate affected premises. Could I actually ask you to take a seat in this car as we await that support?”

Annie opened the backdoor to the squad car she had been assigned to. She hungered for the old man to take a seat within. Her mind curious to see what would transpire as the cars corrupt interior gradually eroded the holy man.

Does Theo take a seat in the car?
