What's next?

To Gerudo Desert: Breath Of The Wild

(note: Story takes place post-story in Breath Of The Wild)

Zelda fanned herself fiercely, sweat pouring from all kinds of places in the dry desert heat. She’d already told Link to stay behind in the oasis, knowing he wouldn’t be able to pass through the gates of Gerudo Town. Link had sulked and made his displeasure at being left out known by grunting and groaning. As she approached the gates, two Amazonian warrior-like women approached her.

“We have been sent to escort you to the chief. Please, follow us.” The lead guard said indifferently

Zelda followed unquestioningly. Gerudo customs often were very different, but being that the town was all female that was to be expected. She hoped to gain Gerudo assistance in rebuilding the kingdom of Hyrule once again, and to do so she would need the help of all of Hyrule’s closest neighbors. The Zora, Gorons, Rito, and Gerudo would all be necessary and vital to reconstruction and rebuilding.

As she stepped through the front gate, she took in the sights the town offered. The steps leading up to the throne room were extravagantly designed, and the waters flowing through the town always added a nice, refreshing contrast to the desert landscape surrounding the walls. Shops ran about their normal business, a large amount of bartering and small talk taking place along the main entrance to the small palace. Zelda found she much preferred doing ambassador trips to Gerudo, compared to the even hotter environments of Goron City.

Zelda reached the top of the steps, and was about to enter when a guard blocked her way.

“Riju has stepped out on important business matters. She would will be back later this afternoon. She requests you to enjoy all our town has to offer while we await her return.” The guard spoke stoically.

Zelda shrugged, and decided she had no issue waiting a little while for Riju’s return.

~~

A few hours passed, and Zelda had already sweat through the majority of her clothes, her panting ragged and tired. The guards had offered her cup after cup of water, and she accepted them all. While this kept her hydrated, it meant she was sweating the majority of the water right back into the open air, her body desperately trying to keep cool. Looking down at herself, she could tell she looked much worse than when she’d first arrived. Her clothes were smelly and sticky, her hair a mess, and she knew she looked disgusting after walking through a brief sandstorm on the way to the town. Simply put, she felt in no way ready to introduce herself to the new leader of the Gerudo. Zelda debated what to do to better her appearance before Riju returned.

How Will Zelda Fix Her Problem?
