To Freeside

After having said some emotional goodbyes to Sunny and Ringo, Madeline entered the area that Ringo had called Freeside. Upon approaching the area she saw a busy crowd of people on a main street. A vendor was cooking up Radroaches as children scurried around unaccompanied. The inhabitants looked poor and down trodden.

Madeline noticed many of the individuals standing at the entrance area were well armed.

"Hey Missy," said one dirty gun-for-hire "You looking for some protection to get to the Strip? Freeside is a dangerous place." The man grinned as she caressed a beat up old shotgun on his shoulder.

"You want real protection if you are going to go through Freeside." interjected a man with a dark beard and hair. He was wearing impressive armor fashioned from metal plates, on his hip was a large revolver.

"I'm Orris," he said nodding and smiling. "Best bodyguard here in Freeside." He rapped his hand on the armor plating and it echoed "Jab here is right--Freeside is dangerous so you probably want some protection. Especially a lovely looking lady like yourself." He smiled.

"How much to get a bodyguard?" Madeline asked suspiciously.

"200 caps." Orris said firmly.

"200 caps!?" Madeline was shocked. She would be losing almost all her caps if she did that, but she could afford it.
