To Evacuate

"We've lost half our agents, requesting help!" Johnson’s voice came over the speaker. Nick Fury turned to the young agent from earlier.

"Maintain an airlock and tell one of the two teams standing guard to move in, now! I then want a team to replace them!" Fury ordered. He turned back to listen to the speakers, the sounds of night-night guns could be heard amongst the dialogue.

"Shit! Johnson's in trouble, focus fire!"

"Crap! Take her out so we can get Janet!"

"Good. Now's our chance!"

"Gotcha."

"This is Ethan. I need help. They took out everyone else, it's just me and-what the-?"

"Fuck!" Nick Fury shouted, turning the speakers off. He turned back to the young agent, "Cancel my previous order, make sure both of the teams are standing guard, and tell them to stay there until I personally tell them to leave. The other team isn't needed."

Fury then walked over to his main console and leant over a microphone before pressing a button. The sound of the intercom turning on could be heard throughout the ship.

"This is director Fury. Abandon ship. I repeat, abandon ship. Leave what you are doing right now and get off." He spoke into the intercom, as sirens started blazing, warning everyone to abandon ship. He then released the button and turned to the helmsman, "Before you leave, set a course for the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and make sure that includes landing. If they’re going to take over the ship, at least we can trap them."

"Fury. This is Hill." The voice came over his private channel, "What do you need?"

"Evacuate with everyone else. Make sure there is only one quinjet left aboard, I don't want there to be any other way to leave. Once everyone's left, I'll initiate lockdown procedures and take the last ride out of here."

"Copy that. Best of luck." Maria stated, before she clicked off. Fury watched as the bridge emptied. He pulled up a screen of life-signs on the ship, as well as a screen for the blast doors and also the comms for the two teams standing guard.

"Teams, this is Fury. I want you to slowly back up. I'll manually close the blast doors as you go. We're buying everyone else as much time as we can."

"Copy that. Backing up now." One agent replied.

"We copy too." Another agent responded. Nick Fury watched the life-signs screen and started manually closing off all the areas that were already evacuated, especially focusing on watching where the guards were. He hoped he could buy enough time to trap the infected. They could return once they had a way to stop them.

"Sir, we've met up at the stairs." The voice of one of the agents came over the speaker after about a quarter of an hour. He'd watched them on his screen as they'd slowly walked most of the length of the carrier, with him closing doors as they went.

"Good, go up and get into the last remaining quinjet, quickly. Once you're on board, I'll lock the Helicarrier down and then come and join you, so don't leave without me." Fury ordered.

"We copy. See you soon." The agent replied. He saw the little red dots on his screen move into the stairway and make their way up it. By now, the only other life-signs on the screen came from the med bay area and his own one on the bridge. Fury sealed off the med bay level entirely. Soon the red dots of the agents disappeared off the screen at they exited onto the runway. He closed the screen and pulled up another.

"We're in. Waiting for you." The agent stated moments later.

"Copy that." Fury stated. He input the lockdown code and hit enter. Different sirens blared all over the ship, almost hiding the sound of hydraulics activating and sealing every section of the large ship. All the screens on the bridge turned off, except for his, which asked for the override code, a code that only he and Maria Hill had, so even when the infected inevitably reached the bridge, they wouldn't be able to use it.

He stood up and walked to the small panel beside the blast door that had sealed off the bridge. He then turned it on and input his code. The door hissed as it unlocked. He walked through and input his code on the other side, on another small panel. The door once again hissed and sealed. He made his way towards the stairs, doing that as he went.
