Time for a reconnection.

Stunned, I looked at Casey. "H-How do you know about me and Sarah?" I asked.

Casey rolled her eyes. "Boy, didn't you go to a prestigious college in California? How can you be so dumb? I'm friends with your sister, genius."

My face flushed red in embarrassment. "Right, I forgot."

Casey laughed and pushed me foward. I looked back at her and met her eyes. She gave me a mischievous smile and pushed me again. For a small girl, she was pretty strong. "If you don't talk to Sarah right now, I will cut your balls off." Casey told me. I thought she was joking but she had a serious look on her face. Thinking that this is a sign, I started towards the house out of fear for my future children.

I got to the house's front door and looked back at Casey. She had a anxious face hand but gave me a thumbs up. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door. I heard rustling behind the door which was followed by someone saying, "Coming!" The door finally opened and I came face to face with Sarah's father. He seemed surprised to see me. His hair started to turn gray and wrinkles are starting to settle in. Other than that, he still looks fit.

"Jake? What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I got back yesterday. I want to talk with Sarah, sir." I nervously told him.

Sarah's father looked at me and then broke into a smile. "Of course, Jake. She is in her room." He stepped aside and let me into the house. I checked behind me one more time and saw Casey walking away, mouthing "Good luck" to me.

I saw Sarah's mom in the kitchen and when she saw me, she froze. She looks like an older image of Sarah, bubbly and beautiful. She slowly came forward and gave me a hug. "I'm not going to ask question but thank god you're back." she whispered in my ear. I nodded and started to walk up the stairs. My heart rate quickened for each step I took towards Sarah's room. My heart was threatening to climb out of my throat and sweat was starting to break out across my forehead as I took the last step towards her room. The door was slightly opened and I heard Sarah talking to someone on the phone.

"...Yeah. Jake got back yesterday...yes, I'm serious... I saw him today but I guess he is still angry at me...Of course I love him, I was an idiot to choose Josh over him. Whenever I think about him, my heart quivers and my knees get weak... I'm such a dumbass. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't like me back anymore...yes...Alright, I'll call you later. Bye."

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I pushed it open and came face to face with Sarah. Her eyes widened in surprise and her face turned crimson. She looks beautiful as ever. Her lips started quivering as her eyes roamed up and down my body.

I walked up to her and hugged her tightly. I felt her hug me back and she buried her face into my shoulder. Her body started shaking and I knew she was crying. "I don't hate you. I still love you." I whispered in her ear.

"I love you too." she whispered back. We embraced for what felt like an eternity and it felt as the most natural thing in the world. I kissed her forehead and she tightened her grip on me.

She pulled back and gave me a beautiful smile. "Don't ever leave me again, Jake Hart."
