What’s it going to be?

Time for a coffee

Chapter 3 by Mundoparisiano

You cast a last glance at the spreadsheets covering your computer screen and decide taking a break is the only way to prevent your eyes from melting. You smooth your skirt and make the winding journey through the cubicle jungle to the coffee machine. Ted from sales is talking to Haley, one of the junior accountants.

Haley is a meek, recent hire, still getting a feel for office dynamics, drawing a lot of eyes because of her big tits. Ted is a fratboy relying on his father's contacts to make insane commissions, but if anyone in the office fits the male ideal it's him. He's got a quarterback's physique, square jaw, blond hair, perfect teeth and blue eyes that make you want to melt into a puddle. Too bad he's such an arrogant asshole.

As you approach he casts an appraising glance at you. He knows you're watching and stares anyway, his eyes sweeping up from heels to eyes. He smiles like a carnivore. You turn your back to pour a cup of coffee as he finishes up his conversation with Haley and as you do you lean forward, pushing your butt out a little and cocking your hip to one side. It's sure to be a nice view for Ted over Haley's shoulder.

"Thanks for your number," he says. "I'll give you a call if I need any help with my numbers."

You roll your eyes and stir some creamer into your coffee. You try to imagine yourself hooking up with somebody like Ted. His big, strong hands picking you up and setting you back down on the copier. Hauling up your sweater and burying his face in--

"Hey, Becky," says Ted, standing right behind you. "You look smoking hot today."

"Thanks, Ted. You look...I like your tie."

He looks down at his tie as if he'd forgotten he was wearing one. It's a red tie sporting a pattern of his fraternity letters. "Oh, yeah, gift from a bro. Hey, I hear Perry is really all over your ass with those spreadsheets."

"Everybody knows?"

"Yeah," he says. "I know you can do it though. You just got to get your focus. You know, I read this book about that. It says--"

Ted starts in with his empty motivational pep-talk, which is an excuse for him to stare down your sweater. You slot the swizzle stick from your coffee into the corner of your mouth and chew it, nodding when you're expected to. As you pretend to listen, you notice Brandon from the marketing department come up to the coffee cart. He catches your gaze and quickly looks away and begins fidgeting with the tins of coffee.

Brandon is Thinkgeek cute. The turtleneck and glasses type, a skinny build, tousled brown hair and a little soul patch beard. He's smart. Smarter than Ted, anyway, and you know he's had his eyes on you. Any time you catch him looking his face turns red. There was also the time you overheard him talking to some of the other guys from marketing. Last year's Christmas party after a few too many drinks. He called you something really rude like the "hottest piece of ass" in the office. Sexist pig talk, but it made you smile. Of course, without liquid courage he's too shy to ever approach you.

"...so it's about visualizing sex-cess." You snap out of it as Ted finishes his speech. Did he just say sex-cess? That pervert. He's blatantly staring at your breasts. "You just have to reach for that brass ring."

Well, there are other cute guys in the office, but Brandon and Ted are the two hanging around the coffee machine.
