Time Off

After getting their food, Ruby and the others begin looking for a spot to sit. Unfortunately, today looked as though an open spot was going to be scarce, that is until Yang points out that over to the far side of the dining room, Team ECHO has a table all to themselves. Seeing this as a great opportunity Ruby decides that it would be the best option to sit with them. Considering that the Vytal Festival Tournament was closing in perhaps talking to her seniors would help her and her team when it comes around.

Ruby: How about we sit with them today?

Weiss: I'm not so sure Ruby, they are with the discipline committee after all. We shouldn't bother them especially when they'll need to deal with a certain someone. Is that right, Yang!?

Yang: Why am I the first person you zero in on?

Weiss: You know exactly!

As Weiss and Yang begin arguing Ruby gets in between them and tries to get them to calm down. Meanwhile, Blake not wanting to let her food get cold decides to walk up to ECHO to see if they'll let her team sit with them.

Blake: Excuse me?

Eliza: Why hello Ms. Belladonna how are you fairing?

Blake: Just call me Blake and I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Anyway, is it alright if we sit with you guys, there doesn't seem to be many seats available today.

Eliza: I see no reason why you can't.

Cyan: I don't mind, what you two?

Heli & Oliver: It's cool!

Blake: Thanks.

After Blake heads back over to her team to tell them the good news, they quickly have a seat with their seniors. Ruby and Yang seemed eager to be able to hang out with them hell even Weiss seem just as excited to sit with them if not to speak with ECHO's leader. Academically, if Pyrrha was considered the top student of the first-year class, then Eliza was considered the top student of the fourth-year class, and considering how she idolizes Professor Goodwitch, Weiss considered her to be someone she could hold a conversation with.

Ruby: Soooo... are you guys going to be competing in the tournament?

Cyan: Unfortunately, we can't since we'll be on security detail as specified by Ozpin. But that's ok since there's no one I'm curious about fighting.

Heli: Hehe... you're just saying that because Dolan's not allowed to participate!

Ruby: Why not?

Everyone: ...

Cyan: Are you serious, he'd just slap them off out the ring just as soon as it has begun.

Oliver: Slap them... I think you mean picking them up and dropping them out of the ring! Besides Dolan's technically not a student he's a part of the faculty. Though I won't lie, it would be quite a spectacle to see a teacher's bracket for the tournament!

Yang: My money would be on Dolan.

Oliver: Yeah, well you'd lose that money. Because let's face it, if he's up against his aunt then you know he'll just forfeit and give her the win!

Yang: Huh... gotta say I didn't think about that. Good call goggles.

Oliver: No problem.

Ruby: So, um do you think you can give us some pointers: like maybe about the different biomes the ring uses?

Eliza: Considering how we couldn't compete in the last tournament because of a certain someone...

Cyan: Sorry.

Eliza: We wouldn't be able to give you any tips other than the obvious.

Heli: Also, from what we heard from Dolan after every festival "Amity Colosseum" goes through some overhaul with it either being adding new biomes, removing biomes, or even just making some improvements to the existing ones. You wouldn't know what you're in for unless you were working directly with their technical staff.

Ruby: Well, that sucks, and I was hoping we could get some awesome intel.

Weiss: Ruby what could intel on what biomes will be available possibly do for you? Perhaps you're forgetting but they're randomized.

Ruby: I mean... yeah but if we knew exactly which ones were being used then don't you think we could then form a plan on how to better use those biomes to our advantage?

Weiss: Hm... I suppose I can understand where you're coming from. Knowing those in advance could prove advantageous to those who knew all the possibilities regardless of if it was in their favor or not. I'm actually surprised you thought about that.

Ruby: Ah thank you, Weiss!

Blake: By the way where's Dolan? I figured he of all people would be sitting with you guys.

Dolan: Where indeed?

Everyone froze before turning to where the sound came from, and sure enough, Dolan was there. Though something was off about him. Was it due to his change in hairstyle or was it because he was currently dressed as Professor Ozpin?

Cyan: WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!!

Oliver: Yeah, but seriously why are you dressed as Ozpin?

Dolan: That mother fucker made me go all the way to get his dry cleaning, which by the way was near the FUCKING END OF THE GODDAMN UPPER-CLASS DISTRICT!!! So, then I was like screw it, I'll wear his fucking clothes 'CAUSE I FELT LIKE IT!

Dolan: Anyway, after that, I decided to stop by Café Jubilee in the Upper District and got myself some pink lemonade. The line was a nightmare, I was there for twenty minutes.

Weiss: Twenty minutes... wait but that doesn't make sense? If you were over there for that long then you should have gotten back by the end of breakfast, how did-

Dolan: So anyway, I noticed when I looked around that JNPR wasn't here?

Ruby: Oh well since there are no classes today and since Pyrrha has been helping Jaune improve, they decided to have themselves a picnic outside, close to the playfield.

Heli: Um so are you going to be dressed like that for the entire day or what?

Dolan: Nah, I'll change out of this in a little bit.

Yang: Still seeing you like that is kinda funny when you have hair like yours.

Dolan: Oh yeah? Here I do you one better! Observe... *clear's throat*

Fake Oz: Why hello there students how are you?

Yang: Pfft... Oh, my gods!

Upon clearing his throat, Dolan proceeds to do his Ozpin impression.

Fake Oz: *sips drink*... Ahhh now that's, that good shit!

Yang: (Stay strong Yang you can do this.)

Fake Oz: Whoops it looks like I'm all out. Glynda, could you be a dear and go pour me another cup of my "dank ass" coffee. I know you keep telling me to put a coffee machine in my office, but I just love the idea of you taking an elevator just to get me another cup. In fact, I love that as much as I love tossing my students off a cliffside!

Immediately mostly everyone started laughing their heads off imagining if Ozpin said that. However, this comedic act of his wouldn't last long, for little did Dolan know, Glynda was slowly making her way to him smacking her riding crop in her hand repeatedly making the group go silent.

Just as he was about to do another impression, Glynda smacks Dolan in the back of his head with full force but he just shrugs it off before turning to face his aunt.

Fake Oz: Hel-

Glynda: You are to stop that right now and get changed this instant! Once finished you are to return those clothes to the headmaster!

Dolan: Okay aunty~

Without saying another word, she starts to leave but not before Ruby noticed the empty mug in her hand. There was no way Ozpin would actually send her to get him coffee... would he?

Dolan: Welp that was fun. Anyway, I'll be seeing you all in a few days, later.

Without anything else to say Dolan takes his leave out of the dining room leaving Ruby to wonder what he meant.

Ruby: Wait what did he mean by in a few days?

Oliver: Now and then Dolan will take a few days off to go train by himself. Unless something urgent comes up you can expect him to be back by the start of next week.

Ruby: I see well in that case we should do something tomorrow as well. How about it, is there anything we should do Friday afternoon?

Weiss: As a matter of fact, I would like to go downtown tomorrow to the docks!

Ruby: Ok then, what about you Yang do you or Blake have anything you want to do?

Yang: Not really.

Blake: No.

Ruby: Alrighty, then tomorrow we'll head to the docks for uh... whatever the heck Weiss wants to do.

-Meanwhile-

After changing his clothes, Dolan pulls out his scroll and begins dialing someone. After a few seconds, it goes to voicemail. Since the recipient wasn't available Dolan decides to leave a voice message.

Dolan: Hey it's me just wanted to check up with you on the status of that "Book" I'll be coming over to purchase. Please give me a call back when this reaches you and as always thank you for procuring such wonderful reading material, Mr. Tukson.
