What was wrong?
Tim and Jacob are going to a rival school!
Tim and Jacob were the biggest geeks and nerds in the whole class, so it was little wonder that they got accepted into the University of Chicago, an institution so dedicated to pure learning and the life of the mind that it dismantled all semblance of Division 1 athletics during the Great Depression.
Of course, this wasn't why, exactly, they were downtown at the Northwestern orientation soiree, skipping out on their own orientation week. Marcus had tipped them off of Renee's whereabouts and plans for the afternoon, and they were all too happy to "bump into" her at the right place at the right time.
"Ugh," Renee scoffed at them, "what are you two doing here?"
"We could ask the same thing about you," Tim retorted, "we know you didn't get into UChicago like we did!" he scoffed in some form of insincere condescension from Renee's failure to engage in the same social ineptitude as they did.
"Whatever, I'm here for my orientation party," Renee brushed past them in the lobby. Jacob quickly took out a ray gun from his pocket and pointed it at Renee as she walked down the lobby to the elevators as it made a silent shot, shaking Tim's hands as they giggled at what was about to happen.
