Tifa Chapter 1 :- Escape From Sector 5

Tifa and Barrett continue to run through the streets of the upper Sector 5 district of Midgar with Shinra Public Security forces hot on their tail, the previous events of the battle with the Air Buster are running around in her head, the moment Cloud fell from the upper plate to the slums below repeat over and over, Tifa stops running, panting and shouts to Barrett...

"We have to go back for Cloud", she says panting from all the running they've done, stopping to catching her breath, Barrett stops and turns to Tifa "Believe me, I'd love to go back for Soldier boy but we've got the whole of Shinra coming down on our asses", he says in his traditional gruff tone, "We have to keep moving, once we get back to the bar we'll link up with the others and search the Sector 5 ruins together..., that way we'll cover more ground", Barrett continues as he grabs Tifa by the arm, "now keep moving", he shouts as they both continue their run to Sector 7.

"Jessie said there should be parachutes stored by a Shinra warehouse not too far from here", says Barrett, "Once we get to the slums it'll be plain sailing from there", they suddenly hear a screech of brakes ahead of them, a Shinra patrol jeep has appeared blocking the road ahead, "they're attempting to lock down the roads", says Tifa as they head for cover, "Damn it!!!", shouts Barrett frustrated, "we're gonna have to lay low for a while, may have to head for the sewers while the heat dies down", he continues, "I saw an sewer entrance back down the last alleyway we passed", says Tifa optimistically, "lead the way", orders Barrett. They both turn to double back on themselves, "should be just under this bridge", says Tifa, "There it is", shouts Barrett as he runs on ahead of her, Tifa follows when a huge explosion hits the concrete and steel bridge above them, rubble comes crashing down and the two are separated by falling debris and rubble, Barrett is on the side of the sewer entrance while Tifa is stuck the other side, cut off from her friend and leader, "I'll head through the sewer entrance here, try and find another way down", Barrett shouts, "I gotcha", Tifa shouts in response, she turns to try and get her bearings, trying to figure out where there would be another Sewer entrance when another Shinra patrol jeep arrives, "stop her" shouts one of the guards, Tifa turns left and runs down an alleyway, the security guard runs after her, "suspect is headed west to the residential district", says the second security guard through the radio, Tifa continues to run, she is easily outrunning the security guard following her (all that training paid off), she jumps storage boxes as she continues to move through the narrow alleyway, "must be getting close to Sector 6 by now", Tifa says to herself in her head, she exits the alleyway onto a main highway that reads <Under Construction>, "great", she mutters under her breath, unable to continue west she runs back towards the east along the highway, "gotta find some cover", she says to herself, she hears a helicopter above her, "shit, can't get caught", she says as she continues to run, she hears screeches of brakes behind her, glancing quickly behind she sees two jeeps have joined the chase behind her, she snakes left now headed North through a gap between two buildings and vaults a metal mesh fence blocking the way in a quick motion, the two chasing jeeps stop by the mesh fence slamming on their brakes, "gotta keep going", she says in her head, the fatigue at this point is setting in as it feels like she's been running forever, despite her obvious fitness levels the human body wasn't meant to sustain this constant running pace, her thighs and shins begin to ache as her muscles tighten, she's definitely feeling the strain, to her delight she notices another sewer entrance covered by a manhole not too far ahead and speeds up running towards it thinking this is her only escape when a Shinra security truck speeds around the corner and stops blocking the sewer entrance she was headed for, the two jeeps chasing from before have now blocked her exit from behind and the helicopter is circling above, "stand down and surrender", a voice is heard over the loudspeaker from the helicopter, Tifa turns assessing the situation, "you've got yourself out of worse situations than this", she thinks to herself, she powers up her materia stored in her fighting gloves, she poses and summons lighting magic which hits the helicopter on the rotor blades and forces it off course, then turns to the seven Shinra Security officers ahead of her and charges forward, dodging bullets as they fly toward her, she hits the front officer with her "Whirling Uppercut" which knocks him clean out, two others rush in to attack her but she also fends them off easily, she notices several Shinra Riot troopers and Shock Troopers approaching from behind, the odds are stacked against her but she continues fighting, the odds eventually overwhelm Tifa and she is shocked **** by a shock trooper who hits her in her blind spot, she collapses in a heap on the ground, slowly losing consciousness, the last thing she hears is a male trooper saying "we got her", over the radio before her eyes close...
