Typing those words made Cody's heart sink. He wanted nothing more than to spend time with Riley, maybe even tell her how felt, but not here. There was just too much at risk. Even if he wasn't a new resident that wasn't familiar with the rules, there was the fact that everyone else was a dick sporting horn dog that would love nothing more than to bury their bone in his long-term crush. He wanted to see her but definitely not like that.

AllRiledUp: ...oh.
CodedForTrouble: I'm sorry.
AllRiledUp: It's fine.
CodedForTrouble: It's just things here are really really weird and I don't think it's good to have anyone over
AllRiledUp: It's cool, dude. One boy in a house of girls? I don't blame you for not wanting me around.
AllRiledUp: I don't bring anything new to the table.
CodedForTrouble: Believe me, you've got something none of these girls could ever have.

AllRiledUp: Well, I'll still be hanging around online until I leave for school
AllRiledUp: So don't be a stranger, ok?
CodedForTrouble: Oh definitely not! Just because I can't hang out doesn't mean I won't talk!
AllRiledUp: Good.
AllRiledUp: I'll let you go for now. I need to take care of some last minute packing anyway...

Cody sighed heavily as he watched Riley's screen name pop offline. He felt so guilty about it. Like Riley really seemed excited to come see him and here he was totally blowing her off. But he had to, right? Who knows what would have happened if she'd come by... he was doing this for her protection.

That's what he told himself as he sank lower into his desk chair. This sucked. Maybe all of this was a massive mistake after all. The house was nice but the risks and costs seemed to be mounting by the second when they weren't actively mounting him. Even worse now he had upset his single favorite person in the world. Cody felt like he was on the very edge of tears when a sudden knock at his door snapped him out of his pity party. Who could that be?
