Chapter 17
by
Miss Amy
Time to make history
This is the end for this universe story
Felicia’s fingers brushed against the racks, the cheap polyester whispering against her nails as she sorted through the costumes with a predator’s patience. The shop’s fluorescents buzzed overhead, casting sickly light over rows of ill-fitting superhero suits and flimsy lingerie.
Her gaze snagged on a full-body suit—black, sleek, with a zipper running from collarbone to navel. She tugged it free, the material slithering through her hands like liquid shadow. A smirk curled her lips as she imagined how it would cling.
Near the register, a fur-lined coat hung limp on a mannequin, its collar thick and decadent.
Felicia's fingers curled around the fur-lined coat's collar, the texture luxurious against her skin as she slid it off the mannequin with practiced ease. The shop bell jangled again as a tired-looking clerk shuffled from the back room, his apron stained with coffee and his gaze lingering too long on the curve of her hips.
"These too," she purred, dropping the sleek black bodysuit onto the counter alongside the coat and black domino mask. The clerk's knobby fingers fumbled with the hangers as he bagged her selections, the plastic crinkling under the weight of her new disguise.
she also decides to head to the make-up shop down the street to buy some new black lipstick
Once she had everything she needed she when back to her apartment and got working on taking the fur lining from the coat and putting it on the collar of the bodysuit while Felicia was doing that Michael was adding a spider emblem to the front of his costume back at his apartment across town
Felicia’s apartment smelled of spiced perfume and the faint metallic tang of scissors as she spread the fur-lined coat across her bed, the black bodysuit laid out beside it like a second skin. Her fingers traced the seams of the coat, hunting for weak stitches, before she snipped the lining free with surgical precision. The fur whispered against her bare thighs as she worked, each strand catching the amber glow of her bedside lamp.
Across town, Michael’s fingers trembled slightly as he pressed the freshly cut spider emblem to his suit, the adhesive still tacky under his touch. The red fabric clung stubbornly to his collarbone, and he exhaled through his nose, smoothing out the creases with his thumbs.
Once they both finished their respective costumes. Michael go's to the mirror to look at himself in the costume as it now perfect as he puts on his mask and heads out to fight crime. Meanwhile with Felicia puts on her new costume and mask and looks in her mirror in her apartment
Michael’s fingers lingered at the edges of his mask, the fabric clinging to his skin like a second layer of sweat. The mirror reflected back a stranger sharp-eyed, angular, the spider emblem stretching taut across his chest with every breath. He turned, testing the way the suit flexed with his muscles, how the red and blue caught the dim light of his apartment. A thrill shot through him as he cracked the window open, the night air rushing in like an invitation. One last glance at his reflection then he was gone, swallowed by the city’s shadows.
Across town, Felicia let the bodysuit slither up her legs, the material whispering against her skin like a promise.
The zipper’s teeth closed with a hushed snick as Felicia sealed herself into the bodysuit, the fabric constricting just enough to make every breath feel like a dare. She turned before the floor-length mirror, watching moonlight bleed through the blinds and stripe the inky material now her skin.
Felicia’s reflection smirked back at her in the mirror all sharp angles and liquid shadow. She ran a hand through her hair, letting the platinum strands catch the dim light before tossing them over one shoulder. "Watch out, NYC," she murmured, tracing a clawed finger down the glass. "The Black Cat’s gonna take everything." The words curled in the air like smoke, a promise laced with teeth.
Down the street, Michael’s boots barely grazed the fire escape as he launched himself into the night, the city’s pulse thrumming beneath his fingertips. His breath came quick, adrenaline singing in his veins.
The wind carried the scent of wet pavement and distant exhaust as Michael's fingertips grazed the side of a brick building, his body arcing through the air with newfound grace. Below, a mugger's startled shout rose from an alley his first test.
Felicia's window rattled in its frame as she fastened the last clasp of her coat, the fur brushing her jawline. Her phone buzzed against the nightstand Harry's name flashing but she let it ring, her reflection's smirk deepening as she reached for the pair of razor-sharp claws hidden in her dresser drawer.
We cut to The watcher closes the book and looks at the reader the watcher confused at first but quickly realised this all part of the story.
The Watcher’s fingers lingered on the book’s gilded edge as the pages sighed shut. The air in the cosmic library hummed with the weight of a thousand unwritten tales. His eyes deep as collapsed stars turned toward you, the faintest smile touching his lips.
