Thinking and plotting

As you hold Doe against you, your thoughts racing, you are suddenly brought back to the present by Doe's voice. “Mmm...that was amazing, John...I am so happy to be your mate.”

You pull out and sit down on a nearby chair, thankful for a split second that the chair is padded instead of the cold metal and plastic that makes up most of the room. Immediately, Doe pads over and curls up in your lap, a look of concern on her face. “Was I not good enough? Is there something wrong?” The frightening fire shoots back into her eyes as her claws flex. “Has another female tried to claim you?”

“No, nothing like that, Doe.” You kiss her nose tip and stroke her back soothingly. She snuggles up against your chest and grins, happy and confident both of her ability to pleasure you and her exalted place in the “pack.”

“Then what troubles you?” she asks as she wraps you in her warm fur and the scent of your combined lusts.

“I'm just trying to figure out what to say to the rest of the scientists, how to explain you to them.”

Doe raises her head, moving so she can look into your eyes. “You are the Alpha, yes?”

“Well....yeah, I am, but...”

“And I am your mate, yes?” she interrupts.

“Yes,” you answer.

“Then there is no discussion. You tell your pack that you are their leader and I am your mate. They will obey or they will be dealt with. There is no other way.” With that, she nuzzles against your chest and growls softly and happily.

While her thinking may seem a bit simplistic to some, you cannot help but marvel at her wisdom. As team leader, you should be able to tell the rest of the team that the project works and what needs to be done to duplicate the process. As for Doe, well, you don't exactly know how well that will go over with the team, but it's not like any of you were here because of your ethical or moral stances on science. Besides, this gives you a chance to move the experiment to Phase 2 – implementing animal DNA and traits into a human being. You would be able to tell them that you need Doe to conduct the preliminary tests for Phase 2 while they work to replicate and improve the process for creating a hybrid from raw genetic material.

Besides, you find yourself grinning wickedly, you do have the power to fire or remove any team members that cause you trouble...and with Doe to back you up, you really can't think of anyone on your team that would dare stand up to you.

Your grin subsides a bit as you nudge Doe. “Time for us to get some sleep. We've got a busy day tomorrow.”

She stands up, yawning as she stretches. “Then it's time to go to your den?”

“Yes, it is, Doe,” you smile at her as you stand. She returns your smile as she moves next to you, wrapping her arm around your waist, her tail occasionally brushing against you as she wags it with a contented laziness. You pull her closer to you and she rests her head on your shoulder as you lead her to your living quarters. The two of you soon curl up on your bed and sleep soundly in each other's arms.

The alarm wakes you both. Doe jumps up in full attack mode, and it takes you several minutes to calm her down and explain the noise she heard. Once she understands what happened, she apologizes for her behavior. You softly kiss her and scratch her neck to calm her down. As you scratch your new "mate," you realize you only have a couple of hours before your team is supposed to meet for the weekly meeting.
