Things Get Heated

As Billy held the door open for his cousin, he couldn't help but admire her looks. He had always thought Miranda had this cute, wholesome, nerdy beauty about her. She had mostly dressed conservatively, but had given glimpses of her wilder side to the family every once in a while. Today she was dressed in a plain yellow V-neck button-down cardigan, with a white t-shirt underneath. She had on a black knee-length skirt with black sheer tights underneath. She also wore black flats with a short heel at the back, and had cute black glasses covering her. All in all she had that Christian minister's daughter kind of look. She wasn't showing a lot of cleavage in crop-tops or strutting out in short shorts, but she still turned eyes towards her. It was almost impressive.

What was more impressive was her hair. She had fairly long hair, that looked like a mix of light golden and auburn. It was done straight in a half up half down braid tied behind her head. It looked professionally done, even though she had probably done it herself. Billy wondered at what time she had to have waken up to do this before coming here. But she was used to it. Every time he had slept over at his aunt's house Miranda was always fast asleep way before anyone else. It took a lot of discipline, but if he expected anyone to do it, it would be her.

She awkwardly took a seat on the couch, noticing that it was not in it's usual place. Or was it? She hadn't been here in a while and was trying to remember how it looked before. It didn't seem even, like someone had pushed it from one side only. _Oh come on Miranda, stop thinking about that useless stuff. So what if it moved? _She caught herself and readjusted her focus back to her cousin, who was still stuck in thought, holding the door open, while looking directly at her.

She thought it was very creepy. Although it wasn't really a look of lust, she felt taken aback by it. She knew that she got a lot of these looks, random admirers staring at her pretty features. It didn't usually bother her. But something about that same look from her own cousin made her feel uneasy. She got a feeling she was not used to. Anger. She was angry at Billy.

"Are you going to just keep starring?" Miranda was shocked at what had just come out of her mouth. 'Where did that come from,' she thought. It seems her anger had been turned into confidence somehow. Anyways, the question had it's desired effect as Billy was caught completely off-guard, mumbling a soft sorry as he closed the door and walked towards her.

It was incredible. It's as if in this one moment, their roles had been reversed. Miranda was now the confident self-assured one, and Billy the shy and reserved one. She felt really good in that moment, and she wanted more.

"Can I get you Anything?" Billy asked his cousin, expecting her to answer with her usual 'no thanks'. But Miranda had other ideas. A devilish smirk spread across her face. She wanted to see how far she could take this. With as much bravado as she could muster, she set out to dominate their meeting.

"Coffee. Black. And make it quick." Billy was absolutely shocked. Who was this person and what did she do to his cousin??? He stood there unmoving for a few seconds, before finally saying "sure" and slowly walking towards the kitchen. He did not know how to make coffee. And what does black coffee even mean? Isn't all coffee black? Were there other hidden colors of coffee that had been kept secret from him all this time? These thoughts and more raced through his mind in that moment.

Meanwhile, back in the living room, Miranda was sitting there ecstatic. She had never even had coffee before! But somehow it felt appropriate to ask for it on this occasion. It was worth it, if only to see the dumb look on her dumb cousin's face when he heard it. She was discovering a new part of her that she never knew existed. She had taken all her pent up resentment at her cousin, combined with her new found anger, and was taking it out on him. And she wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon.
