Thief

Flutterby was a Thief. Sure she could have studied magic or gone to a Bard college, but that requires work. And work just was not fun. Besides she considered her beautiful voice to sound too much like a cricket. And she had enough innate magic to get by anyway.

Like all Faerie, she could turn invisible, create little illusions, make things grow, talk to plants and animals, and change her size. Of course she could also fly with her delicate wings. She did not like to change her size for long though because when she grew her beautiful wings would disappear when she got over three feet tall. And although she could grow as high as five foot three, her ears remained pointy and her eyes a little too large and expressive to pass for a human for long. She could also make pixie droughts. A tiny potion made from pure water and single drop of fluid from her body.

Flutterby was a thief because she was just too curious and covetous for her own good. Once she had stolen some elf wine and got thoroughly stuck inside the bottle. The other Fey found her drunk and soaked inside the bottle singing happily. They had a heck of a time pulling her back out. For her punishment she was put in stocks of a day and everyone in the Faerie village was invited to spank her. Several of the boys (and a few of the girls and one grasshopper) did a lot more to her then that!

She decided that today she would investigate the tiny Hamlet of Hamm. They had seen a cart of jewelry roll into town this morning and though one of those pretty rings would look great as an armband. The gaudier the better. All she had to do was steal one. But the jewelry cart would be there for days and there was a lot of other fun things to do in town as well. She jest could not get caught.

There was the wonderful smelling bakery, the taxidermist shop, the church and nunnery, the pet shop, the lending house (bank), the jail, governors house and of course the tavern.

But what to do?
