Chapter 6
by Greyman
Who was she?
Thia, elven cleric of Sehanine.
You were young and brash back then; so full of the cock sure and certain superiority of your race and brimming with confidence in your prowess. But you were not entirely stupid. You knew even then that the world was a dark and dangerous place, and it never hurt to have a little help.
You looked to join a party of powerful warriors seeking their fame and fortune. Companions brave and true. What you found was Thia, a frivolous elf maiden.
She was slender of build and quite athletic, with wild-tossed, mossy-green hair and vibrant green eyes. She was quite exotic to your eyes, but definitely not what you were looking for. Too young to take seriously, you naively thought; little knowing then that elves showed little sign of aging once they matured.
You on the other hand, were just the muscle she needed at the time, and you didn't stand a chance. Truly you were the young one, and her wise insight found all your buttons. Before you knew it, Thia had secured your cooperation with a promise of wealth and adventure. Just a little side quest, so you thought.
Truthfully, it was a simple quest. Between your battleaxe and fiery breath, and her radiant prayers, the undead infesting the hill farms were little challenge. It was a strenuous workout, but no dire threat to life or limb.
You had traced the undead back to a barrow. A cairn that lay undisturbed among the hills for centuries until a foolish commoner decided to make his fortune, and discovered why it is best to leave such places undisturbed.
You had been impressed with Thia's divine powers, so were not at all suspicious when she offered to perform a cleansing ritual before broaching the undead lair. It seemed so sensible a precaution to take.
You retreated to the hayloft of a barn to secure yourselves. Wards were placed down, and the doors firmly bolted. Perhaps it was the incense, or something slipped into your wineskin, but you made no demurral when Thia insisted the ritual needed to be performed skyclad.
Mayhap you were mislead by the sight of her lithe, tanned body; disrobed and glistening by the light of the moon shining through the skylight. She seemed so **** and unthreatening that you allowed her to help you out of your armor without protest.
What followed was a surprising lesson indeed.
What did Thia do next?
