They talk about Asuka

“So…” Sonobe asked after they both stood in silence for a moment. “Is that good enough?”

“All it did was make him leave.” Rui answered. “And if he stays gone I can’t prove what’s happening to him anyway. But… I guess for now I have to believe you.”

“So, where does that leave us?”

“Right back at the start. I know Asuka was a jerk sometimes but this has to come to a head now. You need to take away whatever suggestions you put on him and let him decide what happens next.”

“I’ve never taken suggestions off of anyone, and even if I did the physical ones have changed him a lot. He couldn’t play at the tournament level again for months.”

“Then give him the choice.”

“If I don’t?”

“You will. I’m still holding your phone.” Rui said with a devilish smile.

Sonobe nodded with his own fiendish expression. “I’ll do it. But mark my words, I’m still gonna be the one taking you to Tokyo.”

Rui agreed and saw him out of her house, giving him his phone back and locking the door behind him. They both had a lot to think about.
