They reach a crossroads.

About ten minutes after leaving the spider infested building, Julie spotted a narrow alleyway cutting between two large buildings. She realized she knew this way; it was a shortcut she and her friends used to take back in high school and would get them closer to the safe house much quicker. It would take them down a long set of alleys behind some large buildings and eventually they would reach the rendezvous site much quicker than going all the way around.

When she proposed taking the side route, Rebecca seemed conflicted. If they took the shortcut, they could get to their destination much quicker, but they had no idea what could be lurking in those back alleys. On the other hand, taking the streets could be dangerous as they were quite exposed, and the quicker they got to the safe house the better. Either way things could quickly go bad, so she had to make a choice quick...
