Ruby quickly set about getting her clothes back on, and as soon as she was presentable, they left the classroom. On his way back, he heard some voices, and turned to look, and quickly realized it was coming from the same classroom Ruby had passed up earlier.

A simple glance inside told him it was a couple of the professors, one an old portly man, the other a green haired bespectacled fellow. Whatever they were talking about didn't matter as much as the realization that hit Jaune.

He had written that Ruby would go into a classroom where they wouldn't be disturbed. Jaune had thought that meant others would not be able to enter the room, but as he thought about it, he realized that this made no sense: the Note needed you to write someone's name while envisioning their face to influence them... No, it had ensured they wouldn't be disturbed by causing them to use a classroom no one else was going to enter for the duration. And it also no doubt helped keep them quiet enough for no one else to hear.

This meant that the Note was both more and less powerful than Jaune had initially figured. While it couldn't have a direct effect on anyone without being specified in it on an individual basis, it also somehow could tell that they wouldn't be undisturbed in the classroom the two teachers were discussing something in, and guided Ruby to select one that wasn't going to be entered by anyone else for the duration.

He kept walking after the brief pause he took to consider this, and realized he had a rather complex tool in his position. He also knew he needed to be careful how he used it to ensure he didn't get caught doing anything with it...
