They hold her hostage

Eve steps behind Gabriella and brings her arm around the Latina’s throat while also threatening to stab her with a Lupick claw.

“And what exactly do you mean with ‘fairly’.” Eve asks.

“I will fight you with only my body.” Chloe explains. “I won’t use any of these tentacles. Just let Gabriella go and the tentacles will disappear.”

“I have a different idea of fair.” Eve says. “I want you to toss that claw, I also will mine. You and I fight hand to hand. If I win, my sister and I go into that light first. If you win, we will let Gabriella be the first to go in there.”

Chloe smiles. This poor woman probably has no idea about a Matriarch’s super strength.

“Deal.” Chloe says and throws the claw towards the lake. It lands on the sand, but close enough for Scylla’s tentacles to reach, if Eve or her sister tries to go for it. Immediately after the tentacles all around them go back into the ground.

Eve throws her claw next to it and hands Gabriella to her sister.

“Let her go!” Chloe demands.

“As soon as you beat me.” Eve replies and gets into a battle stance.

Chloe screams and runs up to Eve. As a doctor she has had little experience with fighting, but she also has very precise knowledge about the human body. And as a Matriarch she is super strong. She knows where she needs to hit someone to hurt them.

Eve knows fighting a Matriarch here and now is a bad idea. She is so fucking exhausted. She has barely any strength left. But then again, for Jiu-jitsu you don’t need a lot of strength. It’s all technique based. She just has to make sure she stays focused and not let her exhaustion make her reaction slow down.

When Chloe lunges for her, Eve grabs her by the coat. She then puts one foot on Chloe’s belly and lets herself roll backwards over the sandy beach. When she lies on the ground and Chloe is on top of her, Eve stretches her leg, kicking Chloe up.

Chloe feels herself lift from the ground, summersaults and lands on her back. She turns around end tries to get back up. Eve already got up before her and turns around only after getting up. She then uses the momentum of her turning around to strengthen a kick towards Chloe’s face. But she's tired, and her movement is still slower then she'd normally be, and Chloe catches her foot. Eve's plan failed, but she can adjust.

Eve instantly reacts to Chloe grabbing her foot by turning her body from a 180° turn to 270° and squats. With her torso so close to Chloe's she can wrap one arm around her throat. She puts her hands together, her head behind Chloe's and gets Chloe into a **** hold. The **** is a move she had to practice for her orange belt, and got expanded in other moves for green and blue that despite her exhaustion she still manages to get the **** on Chloe in less than a second.

Feeling herself get choked by Eve, Chloe has both of her hands trying to keep the chokehold off of her, and Eve feels Chloe's strength as she is making it very difficult to keep the hold going, but one moment, Eve here's something crack, as in a rapid movement Chloe breaks her arm and throws her onto the ground.

Chloe takes her lab coat off, and looks at Eve who's on the ground, writhing in pain as she holds her arm.

"...You know, the other Matriarchs really made a mistake. They, simply...were never curious enough to learn what we were capable off. They got too used to being a Matriarch when they turned that they never bothered to figure out just how powerful we can be. Breaking your arm like that? That's not even scratching the goddamn surface. Every Matriarch learns the basics, but I'm the only one that's ever bothered to see what the complicated things we can do are. You're out of the game Eveline, you are damaged, you are exhausted, and you don't even have two functioning arms. As for you Ai? I'm gonna give you your own little offer. Same one Minerva made, I can make you a Matriarch, and you can fuck your sister right here, claim her as your own, and live a wonderful life with her. And don't act like you don't want it, because I can see it in your eyes that the offer it actually very, very tempting to you."

Ai's still trying to hold onto Gabriella, and she's looking at her Eve, who's confused by Chloe's statement.

It was probably the best offer she would ever get at this point.
