Chapter 6
by Aradnor
Which creature comes to view on the seeing stone?
They have a cave troll!
You decide to focus your attention on the single creature, whose dot patrols restlessly across one of the southernmost corridors of the labyrinth as if agitated. Gradually, the image becomes more are more crisp, until you can make out the unmistakable figure of a cave troll striding absentmindedly along this section of the labyrinth. Its footstep is loud and its grunting incessant as it marches back and forth, its back hunched so severely that its face rests only a little way off the ground. Tough, grey hide protects the entirety of its hulking form, which usually stands ten feet tall. Four trunk-like appendages sprout from the main body, the upper ones ending in thick, stubby fingers in contrast to the lower limbs which are utterly shapeless save two fleshy pads that you suppose substitute for feet.
It certainly is an ugly beast, and one of the least intelligent members of your collection to boot, yet the cave troll is nonetheless a formidable opponent, amongst the strongest creatures known to man in this part of the continent. Muscle enough to crush iron and bone in one fell strike, skin impervious to arrows and bolts of all kinds and capable of running faster than all but the most purebred stallion, it should present a suitable challenge to whichever of your guests happens to stumble upon it. You regard the troll momentarily as it pauses to scratch some unseen itch. Its gormless face stares mindlessly ahead and you begin to wonder quite how such a powerful physique came to be paired with a singular lack of intellect. No matter, once you take control of its body, brain and brawn shall be as one. You concentrate on the beast's beady eyes. The pupils suddenly turn jet black and expand immensely. Your mind goes blank and you project yourself into the troll.
You burst back into conscious quickly in your new body, stretching your meaty arms and drawing yourself up to full height with a slight groan. You feel heavy and somewhat groggy, but the possession went relatively well given that it's a spell you use sparingly. The hide that now serves as your skin, however, is tight and uncomfortable, your throat dry and your belly empty. Everything aches to a greater or lesser degree. You curse silently. You had forgotten how...well, how real it felt to take control of another's being. Painful, to be certain. You hope the pleasure will be worth it.
The thought reminds you immediately of the adventurer heading assuredly in your direction. You'd forgotten about her during your transformation. You would lick your lips if you could, but feel your monstrous form react all the same. You look down to discover that your lower half is covered in a tattered loincloth, which you precede to tear apart. Underneath, a long, flabby member emerges, growing gently at the idea of ravishing whichever of the bounty hunters you happen across. You scratch it unthinkingly, realising with a shock that it is your own.
An unfamiliar silhouette breaks you out of your stupor and you look up. A lengthy shadowy is plastered over the wall to your left, interrupting the dull glow of the torchlight. Its owner stares at you in a stunned silence from a distance of fifty paces. You heave yourself up and begin sprinting towards the intruder using your forearms as much as your legs to propel you through the air. A ferocious bellow erupts from between your jaws. The ceiling shakes.
To whom does the silhouette belong?
