They get to a club
The ride and the laughs continue until the limo slows, turning into a valet line downtown. Watching out the window, I see the neon sign of the club glowing overhead. It’s clearly one of those upscale spots I never would’ve thought to go to. There’s a doorman in a black suit, holding up a line waiting to get inside.
A few seconds later, the driver opens the door. Mike steps out first, making room for Sofia to follow. As she scoots out, stepping down, a little hunched over, I get my first halfway decent look at her ass in the silver dress that’s inching up the back of her thighs and catching the light. Lost in my own thoughts for a second, I suddenly feel a nudge on my shoulder and glance back to see Dan and the rest staring at me with big goofy grins. Thankfully, for once in his life, Dan shows a hint of decency and just tilts his head, signaling me to move, and chooses to forego any smartass comments.
The rest of us pile out behind her, and I feel like I just got promoted to a different tax bracket when a host in a tailored blazer is waiting to greet us. He nods at Sofia like she’s royalty, then leads us inside, bypassing the line. We cross through the main floor and up several stairs to a raised VIP section that overlooks the dance floor.
I never would’ve imagined my friends and I in a place like this, much less sitting in the plush sectional sofas wrapped in dark leather. A low glass table is already adorned with ice buckets and premium bottles of tequila, vodka, whiskey and champagne. I soon realize we also have a private waitress in a sleek black dress, who closes a velvet rope after we all pile in, separating us from the rest of the club.
Sofia turns to the group, arms out. “Welcome to your birthday, Jay! I know you had originally planned on a bar crawl, but I hope you’re ok with doing this instead. And hey, there’s no waiting in line. Just… us.” Her words are followed by an immediate laugh. “Well, us and the waitress, who Mike clearly appreciates.”
All of us turning to Mike, we catch him craning his neck to watch her walk away, before sheepishly turning back to us, and then glancing around. Not even the dim lights can hide his face going red.
Dan lets out a low whistle. “I’m never letting you plan my birthday again, bro,” he says to me. “This is unfair.”
Pete wastes no time pouring shots, trying not to spill any when Jess elbows him again, smiling. Lauren snaps a selfie of the group.
I notice Sofia standing in the middle of everything appearing a little nervous. She catches my eye, steps closer, and leans up to say something to me over the music.
“Happy birthday,” she says just loud enough for me to hear. “I wanted tonight to be special for you. I know it’s probably not your scene, but I hope it’s ok.”
Pulling back to look at her, I try to think of what to say. “Can I give you a hug?” is what eventually comes out.
Sofia’s eyes widen for a split second when I ask, like she’s genuinely surprised I’d even think to ask first.
“Of course,” she says brightly over the music. Her face morphs into a big, warm smile, and she holds out her arms.
I step in and wrap around her. It’s the first real touch between us beyond the smack on my ass while getting into the limo, and the feel of her hits me all at once. She’s squishy in all the right places when her body presses in against mine. I can feel her chest flatten and spread out against my lower ribs as the sequins on her dress catch on my shirt. I’ve been too distracted all night to notice her perfume until now, but once it hits me, I can’t get over how good she smells.
I’m not the biggest hugger, so I’m happy when she actually hugs me back tightly, and not in one of those weird, ass out, barely touching me with one arm, kinda hugs.
“Thank you for actually hugging, and not doing one of those awkward hugs,” I say loud enough for her to hear over the music. “I mean, if you’re going to get in my bubble, then fucking hug me, or don’t bother in the first place, you know?”
I feel her laugh more than anything else, and then her fingers press into my back, pulling me tighter for a second into my birthday hug. When we pull apart, her cheeks are flushed, and her face is as bright and happy as I’ve ever seen her before turning into an almost shy smile and pivoting to the group.
The night kicks off fast after that. Drinks keep coming with shots first, then cocktails, and random champagne toasts. The waitress doesn’t even bother to ask if we want more and keeps it coming, checking to see if there’s anything else we’d like to go with it. Everyone’s loose, laughing, and enjoying an experience none of us have ever had. Dan’s already three drinks ahead of the rest of us and trying to convince Mike to do a terrible dance move that justifiably died years ago. Pete and Jess are arguing playfully about which of them has been hit on more since being up here. Then there’s Lauren, perched on the edge of the couch, legs crossed, watching the dance floor and everything going on around her, while Eddie talks to anyone that’ll listen about how he should be a DJ.
At one point Mike leans over to me, nodding toward the waitress as she walks away with an empty tray. “Bro, check out those fuckin’ legs. She’s got to be a runner or something.”
I can’t help it and glance over to see what he’s talking about. He’s not wrong. They’re long, toned, and barely disappearing under the stupidly short black dress she’s wearing. “Yeah, she’s hot,” I holler back at him.
That’s when I notice Sofia watching me out of the corner of my eye, and has obviously heard what I said. Turning to face her, she laughs when I start to clam up. “Don’t stop looking on my account,” she says, loud enough for everyone to hear and waves her drink in the direction of the waitress. “Mike’s right. She’s gorgeous. Enjoy the view.”
I feel my face turn red, but her smile shows she’s thoroughly having a good time, with no hint of any jealousy. It helps me relax a little more to be able to enjoy my night.

Out of My League
Delivering More Than Food
Jay's just a regular young guy scraping by with a food delivery gig until one evening he knocks on the door of a sprawling house in the suburbs and meets Sofia. She's the definition of untouchable: stunning Latina curves, golden skin, a body that defies having two kids, and a confidence that makes his knees weak. Married to an absent husband, she starts as nothing more than a generous tipper with a killer smile... but over months of deliveries, the glimpses of her real life turn casual politeness into something electric. What starts as stolen glances and flirty small talk slowly escalates. Sofia's marriage is cracking, her needs are unmet, and Jay becomes her secret outlet of late-night texts, stolen quickies, and marathon sessions where she finally lets go. He worships every inch of her, especially that legendary ass she's kept hidden for so long, and she rewards him in ways he never dreamed possible. But nothing stays secret forever. Sofia's bold, bratty sister Marisol catches wind of what's going on and suddenly the game gets a lot more complicated. Jealousy, sibling rivalry, threesomes, and the ticking clock on Sofia's "expiration date" with her young lover all collide. How far will this forbidden fling go? Will Jay claim what's his, share her, lose her, or watch everything spiral in directions he never saw coming? Is Sofia the woman for him, or is it Marisol? Will someone else enter the picture and turn his head?
