They don't call them vengeance demons for nothing...

Damn it! thought Kennedy. All the trouble Amy and I went through on this trip -- and it proved to be all for nothing. Buffy still ended up being cursed to go naked and all I accomplished trying to prevent that was to make myself look like a fool in front of Cordelia and Harmony. The sad part is that I could reverse the curse quite easily if I could talk -- but I can't. And nobody here seems willing to help me. Perhaps if I could find present Willow or present Giles...

She broke off her kiss with Cordelia and then started to turn away, only to receive a major slap in the face from Cordelia.

"That's for trying to **** yourself on me, you weirdo," said Cordelia.

Then she slapped Kennedy again.

And again.

Then Cordelia started to hit Kennedy with her purse.

And here I thought that she liked my kiss, Kennedy thought. She certainly didn't object too much when I put my tongue in her mouth. Could the lady be doth protesting a bit too much here?

Then a voice said, "Step aside, Cordelia. My purse is cheaper and much heavier anyway."

And then Kennedy felt something like a sandbag hit her on the side of the head.

That's a purse? she thought. If it was, it felt like it was being wielded by a giant. Or maybe by something else supernatural. Like a vampire. Or a Slayer.

Or a demon, Kennedy thought.

Kennedy looked in the direction of her assailant and sure enough, saw Anya swinging a large purse in her direction. She tried to duck but Anya was much faster than she expected her to be.

Then Anya kept hitting her with her purse until Kennedy grew dizzy and found herself having trouble standing up.

She heard Anya whisper something in her ear that was so low that only Anya and she could hear it. "You should know better than to try to out a person in my line of work. If you had come to me in private, I could have been quite happy to grant your wish concerning your friend Amy but now that you've tried to expose me in public, granting your wishes is the last thing I want to do. I hope you stay mute forever, mystery girl. And take care to remember this moment the next time you try to fool around with me or my co-workers. After all, there is a reason why you humans call us vengeance demons."

Kennedy then collapsed and tried like heck to avoid hitting her head on the concrete outside the high school entrance. Not that helped much.

No sooner had she fallen than she looked up to see Anya aiming her shoe-clad left foot straight at her head. One minute later, Anya's foot hit the side of Kennedy's head, and Kennedy screamed in pain before she mercifully lost consciousness.

The last thought Kennedy had before everything went dark was about how bad she felt that she had not been nicer to Vamp Anya. Kennedy could have really used her help right then...
