They do, but...

Yubelluna threw more explosive blasts at Akeno with her good hand, while aiming her barely functioning right at the ground to send a couple down at Koneko, albeit at a much slower rate. Akeno weaved through the blasts, though was getting rattled, as Yubelluna was now going for more concussive shockwaves than fiery blasts at this point. As such, Akeno was being impacted a good amount, and it was taking a lot of effort to avoid being flung about, and ending up at Yubelluna's mercy. Still, with one of her arms all but crippled, it was much more manageable.

"Riser Peerage. 1 Rook, retired," they all heard, but ignored it.

Koneko dodged a blast, before ripping another chunk of earth up, and flinging it at Yubelluna, who simply dodged. "Such a primitive tactic," she sneered. Akeno looked around for something they could use to their advantage, before seeing the water tower on the very edge of the battlefield. Koneko noticed where she was looking, before nodding almost imperceptibly. She ripped out yet another chunk of earth.

"Take this!" she shouted, before it flew up at Yubelluna.

Yubelluna almost rolled her eyes at the sheer repetitiveness, before moving aside. "Do you not know the definition of insanity?" she started to ask, before blinking, noticing that Koneko was gone.

She didn't have to wonder where she had went for long: instead of throwing the boulder as Yubelluna expected, she flew up with it, using it as a battering ram instead of a projectile, not expecting it to hit. Instead, it concealed her body and approach, allowing her to get close to the Queen undetected. Koneko pushed off from the airborne rock, and just as Yubelluna turned, slammed both of her feet into her gut.

Yubelluna choked up blood as she flew back, and smashed right into the water tower. "This is it!" Akeno declared, bringing down the most powerful bolt she could muster upon the water filled structure while Yubelluna was still in it.

It was extremely gratifying to hear the Bomb Queen letting out an agonized scream as the voltage tore through her body, conducted through the metal and water. Akeno panted as she flew back down, landing with her hands on her knees, and Koneko followed suit. "Nicely done," she told her friend.

"You too... We did it," Koneko chuckled.

"Riser Peerage," Grayfia's voice echoed, and they waited to hear the announcement that would confirm their victory. "1 Knight, retired."

They froze. Knight? That must have happened with the other fights, but then... Where was the announcement of the Queen being retired? They didn't think, they just acted, jumping back. And not a moment too soon either, as a blast came flying out at them from the wreckage of the water tower. It went off where they had just been standing, and both of them cried out as the shockwave and edge of the explosion struck them, destroying the rest of Koneko's clothes, and bringing Akeno down to her panties in the bargain.

They crashed to the ground, and Akeno started to **** herself up. They were both still in it, but just barely. She looked up to see Yubelluna climbing out of the wreckage, all of her injuries gone, and holding an empty vial. Akeno's eyes widened. Phoenix Tears. How had she forgotten something so important? "...shit," Koneko summed up, as she also **** herself to her feet.

"...I underestimated you both. Rest assured, I won't repeat that mistake," Yubelluna stated, extending both hands, preparing more explosions. "Now then... Let's try this again, shall we?" she smirked, before launching the blasts at the two.
