They check Megan out.

Matt nervously approached the receptionist, with Penny at his side and Megan trailing mutely behind them. He opened his mouth to speak but she cut him off.

"Are you planning to check Megan out?" she asked with a professional smile.

"Check her out?" Matt asked. At the same time, he heard Megan excitedly say "I'm Megan! That's me!"

"I know, dear," the receptionist said to Megan before turning to Matt. "Yes, check her out. How many days do you intend to keep her?"

"Oh, like a library book!" Penny said. "That's clever. Do people check out the boosteds a lot?"

The receptionist shrugged. "Usually just when they're thinking of getting a booster themselves. It helps to spend some time playing with one before you decide to take it yourself. So, how many days?"

"Uh, one, I guess," Matt said hesitantly. Penny slapped his arm playfully.

"No way! We want her for a while. Babe, think about it! If I decide not to get the booster then we have a fun little toy for a while, and I decide to get it I'll have an intellectual peer around to interact with. What do you think, Megan?"

Megan had closed her eyes. Now she reopened them and nodded happily. "Ok," she said. "I think that sounds lovely."

"She doesn't even know what we're talking about," Matt said. "Don't bother asking her." Megan flashed a thumbs up then went back to staring at nothing.

"Let's just put a week. You can extend it on our website," the receptionist said. "Please fill out these forms - the gist is that you're agreeing not to do any damage to Megan here while she's out. If she comes back injured or sick you're on the hook for medical care."

"Shouldn't be a problem. You're not gonna get hurt, are you Megan?" Matt asked.

"Nope!" she said giddily. "Am I going home with you guys?"

"Wow, she really can't keep up," Penny observed. "You sure you want me this stupid? I don't care, of course, but you might find it kinda frustrating."

"That's why we're taking her home, dear," Matt said. "So we can get a feel for it before we turn you into a mush-brained pleasure zombie."

Megan smiled at that. "Mush-brained! That's so funny, that's exactly how I feel! Like I'm thinking about mush all the time. I can't wait to see your house!"

Matt handed the receptionist the forms and she presented him with a copy of them. "For your records," she said with a wink. Megan saw the wink and misinterpreted it.

"I think she wants to fuck you," she giggled in a mock-whisper to Penny. "Or maybe this guy. Or me? Do you wanna fuck me?"

The receptionist smiled gently and spoke slowly. "Not today, Megan. Maybe another time."
