Do the girls believe her?
They're skeptical
"Alright, so you proved it," said Heather.
"That's right, ya sure did," added Harmony.
Her suitcase gently rolled up against her door.
Mackenzie breathed a sigh of relief that they believed her. She unlocked and cracked her stall door to reach out and snatch her luggage.
"NOT!" shouted both Heather and Harmony in unison. Her suitcase zipped back a couple feet away from the bathroom stall.
One of them began gently, almost playfully, pushing Mackenzie's stall door open, and the redhead nervously slammed it shut and re-locked it. She didn't mean to be so dramatic, but she didn't want these girls seeing her in just a see-through shirt and bra either.
Harmony explained, "Any old thief could've seen the room number, the phone battery, the ID with the name Mackenzie So-and-So on it, the whole shebang. How can we trust you?"
Heather added, "Yeah I'm calling cap, you're acting awwwfuuuuullllly sus, sister. If you are who you say you are, what's your last name?"
Mackenzie meekly answered, "F-Fairbairn."
Heather replied, "Ah. You see, it ackshually says Fairbairn here, not F-F-F-Fairbairn. Got any other things you noticed while you had your slimy paws on this here prize, eh?"
Milly, from over by the exit, said, "Guys, c'mon, just give it back to her, this is getting ridonkulous."
Harmony rebutted, "Now now now, Milly. We can't just be giving up someone's belongings to some strange stranger in a strange bathroom... We've got to take it to the lost and found and return it to its owner through the proper channels, of course."
Heather started picking up what Harmony was putting down. She prowled around, trying to peek through the cracks in the door, and said, "Yeeeeah... Handing off belongings that aren't ours to the wrong person would be a biiiig yikes. Maaaaybe the true owner should come out and try convincemaxxing us a little."
Mackenzie stifled a gasp. They want me to come out... Like this? thought Mackenzie. She looked down at her soaked white shirt with a very visible black bra underneath. She bit her lip.
"If I come out, will you please give me my suitcase?" asked Mackenzie.
Harmony, with a much more chipper tone, said, "Oh, we'll probably need a bit more than that to match you to your suitcase, but visual identification would certainly be a start..."
Heather added, "Yeah Mack-aroni... We at least need to match your current fashion sense to your supposed wardrobe here. Sooo..." Heather could be heard popping a bubble gum bubble. "Whatcha wearin'?"
Mackenzie snapped both hands over her very visible bra. It was suddenly dawning on her just what coming out entailed, and the fact that these girls seemed to be onto her whole wet t-shirt debacle.
"Just uhhh... Normal stuff?" answered Mackenzie.
Harmony and Heather oo'ed and aw'ed.
Milly loudly whispered from over by the door, "Hey, can we hurry this up already? People are walking around out there in the halls, and I'm not getting thrown overboard with you guys when they find out you tormented this girl. Cough up her shit and let's go."
Mackenzie continued to be impressed by Milly's spunky attitude. She totally misread her as the timid butt-of-all-jokes tease-target of the trio and was clearly wrong about that. She could see herself in Milly's shoes a couple minutes prior when her 'friends' were attempting to coax her into ludicrously skimpier outfits, but not anymore. Milly was a strong-willed spitfire and Mackenzie envied that. Mackenzie could think of more than a dozen times where she was talked into skimpy outfits, or even completely out of her clothes. She whimpered at her humiliating life.
"Tormenting, shmormenting," said Harmony. "We're just trying to return this suitcase to it's rightful owner."
Heather added, "Yeah. And maybe make a friend while we're at it. So, Mack And Cheese, get your gyatt out here already. It's fit check time!"
Mackenzie held one hand over her chest and two fingers over the lock again. She was determined to keep this a nudity-free trip, but a wet-t-shirt-that's-still-got-a-little-puke-on-it-free trip? That didn't seem to be in the cards. Time to face the music, thought Mackenzie as she unlocked and opened the stall door.
