When Byleth checked the classroom with the Black Eagles waiting, they mostly were just chatting among themselves. Edelgard however looked half dead on her feet, like she had been up at least half the night, though she was of course still trying. "How's everyone doing?"

"Oh, we are fine, just... uh, breaking the ice with Monica," Petra said. She then noticed several of the other Black Eagles looking at her. "Um, did I say that wrong?"

"No, you got it right," Caspar replied with a smile. "You're learning."

"You're certainly a more interesting bunch than my last class," Monica chuckled, before looking at Byleth. "At any rate, Professor, I should inform you that I was further along in the year than my abduction. I don't mind repeating the year, but I would like to make myself useful to this class."

"Are you suggesting you offer your services as an assistant, like a tutor?" Byleth asked.

"Yes! Anything to help Lady Edelgard's class!" Monica nodded affirmatively.

"...yeesh, and I thought Hubert was the overly devoted one," Ferdinand noted.

"Is that a problem?" Hubert asked, crossing his arms, glaring at Ferdinand along with Monica.

"Loyalty isn't an issue, no," Ferdinand shrugged. "However, there's a fine line between it and being sycophant."

Before an argument could start, Byleth cut in, "That would be very helpful, thank you Monica. This is after all my first time teaching."

"Happy to help!" Monica chirped.

"Try using your ability to tell what her sexual desires are on her!" Sothis told Byleth as she exited her head and floated behind Edelgard to... "Help her stay awake." Byleth mentally agreed and activated his that ability while looking at Monica.
