Chapter 186 by Twistinger

Anyone specific on Ian's mind?

There is one person...

College was nothing compared to high school. Sure, there were attractive and sexy girls in high school - but I never had to deal with armies of gorgeous babes, running around my coed dormitory in little more than T-shirts and no bras. It made the lack of Amy all the more painful.

One girl in particular made my time in the dormitory sheer ****. Jessica stayed in the room adjacent to mine, and had a body to die for - long shapely legs, a teasingly tiny waist, dark luscious hair that reach down to her perky ass, and a pair of tits that could block out the Sun. And she wasn't shy about how she flaunted her assets either. Every day I would see her strut back from the showers, in nothing more than a frayed towel that was one gust of wind away from revealing the treasures underneath.

But that wasn't all. What made it agonizing was how much Jessica and I shared in common. Not only did we share most of our classes, we enjoyed the same movies and read the same books. She even served as a barista at the off-campus cafe I tended to frequent after my runs. Pretty soon we weren't just sitting next to each other during lectures - we were fast friends. It didn't take long for my lower brain to start entertaining some very vividly disturbing scenarios.

The truth was, Jessica was perfect girlfriend material. And I was no longer the frail geek that would freak at the idea of asking her out. Yet she was now out of reach, and while I had no intention of going back on my word, Jessica's mere presence teased me along the edge constantly.

"Great," I'd think to myself miserably. "Maybe this is how Amy feels like."

And then one day the bombshell hit me.

Amy and I managed to schedule another call - the last one she would be able to make before a string of major events. It was something I had been looking forward to for half the day, despite the tedium it sometimes became.

What I was not expecting was to hear Amy sniffling when my call went through. "Amy? What's wrong?"

"Ian," her voice weakly blubbered. "It's Stephanie - I just got off the phone with her. She and Simon broke up."

Stephanie and Simon! Out of all our couples, after the drama and promises they shared with each other since high school, they were like the shining example of how to behave as a couple. The news that they had chosen to give up the fight, right out of the blue, was absolutely devastating. It was like a close relative had cut off ties with the family. I felt the blood drain out of my body even as Amy continued on, **** on half her words.

"Ian?" she whispered. "I don't know what I should - what we should do. Everyone's falling apart, we're both tired, and - "

There was no longer denying the sick, thick sense of dread I was feeling. Nothing Amy was saying was sinking in. By the time I realized I was holding the phone in one hand she was already long gone, with nothing but the dull default tone echoing in my ear.

What does Ian do now?
