There's a new initiative for the containment and rehabilitation of prisoners

A little under a year before you graduated, the government implemented new protocol for containing and rehabilitating individuals who broke the law. Specifically, studies showed that the use of sexual pleasure could drive recidivism rates down by up to 95% - or such was the phrasing in the news, anyways. It was passed after some fierce debate in the legislature, and the first trial batch of prisoners was entered into what was simply named the Facility.

The trial prisoners were largely selected from those with middling sentences, severe enough that there could be reasonable expectation of an effect but short enough that results could be checked relatively speedily. The first few were released just a few months after the program started. The news readily reported that the prisoners had no interest in returning to crime and that people who knew them said they "had a whole new lease on life." The program was confirmed and expanded.

Then came the next announcement: it was found that there was interest in voluntary entry into the Facility. Rumors online speculated that it was the released prisoners driving the demand, that they wanted a return to the pleasure they had only found in one place before. Such rumors were never confirmed, but they were and remain persistent. In any case, for a fee determined by the length of stay and severity of chosen confinement, the Facility was opened for those who had broken no law to enter.

You had started saving as soon as the opening of the Facility to general entry was announced, with your eye on one of the options for "lifetime confinement". It was the most costly, so it took you a while - in fact it took you a good few months working retail after you graduated high school, which is an experience you're not sorry to see the back of. But you have the funds you need now, and today's the day.

The Facility is rather unassuming on the outside. It looks like a concrete block with a few windows and doors. There is a perfunctory fence around it, but it's clearly just there to comply with some form of regulation. A simple path leads right up to the front doors.
