Theft at the Botanical Garden

We find our heroine in her secret identy of Rebecca Edwards as she arrives at the scene of a crime at the San Andreas Botanical Gardens. The Gardens had recently be hosting a new exhibit consisting of plants from around the world. However, last night, several of the specimens on display disappeared. Rebecca had been sent by her boss, James Jones Jr, to get the scope. As she arrived, she found Police Captain Hobbs on the scene. "Captain Hobbs, fancy meeting you here." Hobbs barely acknowledge the reporter. "Not now Edwards, I'm busy." "Any comment on what has been stolen." "Several rare plants where stolen but we are keeping that list confidentional for now." "Any means of entry." "No." "Any plans to prevent this from happening again and capture the thief." "Officers will be stationed at the gardens tonight in case the thief returns. Other than that, we have no leads." "How bout...." "That's enough Edwards. Jefferds, see Ms. Edwards out of here." An officer took Rebecca by the arm and away from the crime scene. Rebeccca thought Hobbs had the right idea. As cliche as it was, thieves always returned to the scene of the crime. Stationing guards would be good but she felt they could use a little help. Sounded like a job for Defender.

After finishing up work, Rebecca returned home and in the privacy of her secret chamber, transformed into Defender. The suit consisted of a star spangled Bikini Thong, tan colored tights, red boots and a cape themed after the american flag. Rebecca typical wore her hair in a tight bun but as defender, she let her honey colored, shoulder length bob cut hand loose. She also discared her thick frame glasses which are what helped hide her identy despite the lack of a mask. All dressed, Defender mounted her super bike and took off towards the gardens.

Arriving just as the gardens closed, Defender road up and was greeted by Sarget Jefferds. "Defender! What brings you hear tonight." Dismoutning her bike, she addressed the sargent. "Heard their was a break in here. Thought you guys could use an extra set of eyes." "Well I think we've got everything pretty well sealed here. We have guards posted at all entry and exit points and we have several officers patroling the grounds." "My, it seems like you boys have everything pretty well in hand." "We do our best ma'm." "All the same, I'd like to take a look around. You don't mind do you?" "Be my guest."

Defender then began to make the rounds around the garden. She had to admit, this wasn't bad. Defender always had a thing for flowers and the smell they where all giving off was very pleasent. It was a little errie walking around alone in the gardens at night though. Eventually, she came to one of the exits and curiously noted that there wasn't a guard there. "That's strange." She thought. Running to the exist, she found the posted guard out cold. She found that he had a pulse and was breathing but no matter what she did, she couldn't awake him. She also noted him covered in a strange dust.

Then movement caught her eye. In the darkness. Defender decided to investigate and ran in the direction she saw the movement. What she found shocked her. It appeared to be a living flower! Walking away with several specimens from the gardens in it's vine like trendials. This was a new one for Defender. She was use to fighting people but a living plant was a little out of the norm for her. Perhaps going after it alone wasn't the best idea. Perhaps she should call for back up but what could police do that she couldn't?
