He nodded before his eyes slipped closed.

A while later, he shifted out from under me, gently rolling me to the side. I made whiny noises but he just poked me in the forehead. He opened a door that hadn't been there by pressing on some invisible switch I was sure I had tested earlier. He disappeared in the room, water ran several times and he reappeared a minute or so later.

“C'mon, Marie. Don't you want to see the world?”

I rolled over. “The bed is warmmmm tho!”

“Here, lemme show you the rest of the station.”

“That's Earth right? We're in space?”

“Yep.” Trevor seemed amused by my reaction but I could hardly care. We'd been in SPACE the whole time! “This is the station ATHENA built for you and your research. There isn't really an official name yet, but the others have been calling it Elysium, especially Helen and William. I keep telling them it's a bad idea because of this old movie, but—”

“ATHENA?” The name set off a complicated chain reaction of emotions, almost purely positive ones, but the lack of memories to give context made it confusing.

Instead of Trevor, another voice answered. Smooth and feminine, almost maternal while still sounding young, and very amused.
