Chapter 7 by Wandering_Pirate Wandering_Pirate

Does Mina check the app now that she is alone?

The world needs to see this!

Back in her room, Mina, feeling the vibrant energy of the evening, reached for her phone that had been left on charge whilst she showered. Inspired by the moments shared with her friends and the overall positive vibe of the day, she decided to post a public message on the myHERO app hoping to lure in some new fans to her page.

"Hey, amazing peeps of the hero world! Just had the most refreshing shower and spent some quality time with the best pals ever—@Uravity and @Froppy! <3 Now, check out this fluffy hair of mine! #PostShowerGlow #BestiesForLife"

Mina attached a quick selfie showcasing her still damp and fluffy hair, her signature grin lighting up the photo. She hoped the fans would find the combination of her upbeat message and the playful snapshot both cute and amusing. To her surprise, as soon as she hit the "Post" button, Mina noticed four brand new DMs waiting for her. Curiosity piqued, she opened the private messages, revealing a diverse array of fans reaching out. One was from a young girl, expressing admiration for Mina's positive vibes and asking for advice on hero training. Another, a boy, sent a drawing he made inspired by Mina's quirk, filled with colorful acid patterns. The third message was from an older gentleman, complimenting her on her heroics and expressing gratitude for the inspiration she provided. The fourth DM, however, gave Mina pause. It was from another older man, and the message seemed to carry a different tone. Uncertain about its content, Mina contemplated her next move.

Taking a deep breath, Mina opened the fourth DM, her curiosity piqued by the 50 HERO points attached to the message. The sender's request seemed a bit awkward as if he were shy or uncertain. However, as Mina read through the message, she found herself surprised by the seemingly innocent plea for her to perform the "Ahegao" face, a trend from the past that once gained popularity. They also requested that Mina make sure there was "plenty of saliva on display" Which further amused her.

A mischievous grin spread across Mina's face. The request struck her as unexpected and amusing, and she couldn't help but appreciate the fan's unique and lighthearted approach. After all, the myHERO app was a space for playful interactions, and the offer of HERO points added an interesting twist. Mina was more than happy to fulfill this man's request and hoped she could do it justice. She got herself posed up against her vibrant wall once more and started to collect a nice mouthful of spit, aided a little by her quirk to make it extra thick and viscous to have it stand out in the image. Once she was ready and her mouth was filled with saliva she would contort her face to an "Ahegao" and open her mouth, letting her tongue flop out as the viscous spit and acid combo drooled out of her and down her face, She captured a series of snapshots to ensure there were options to pick from, only wanting to send over the very best image she could. With a light-hearted giggle, Mina playfully cleaned herself up, reveling in the spontaneity of the moment.

Upon receiving the image, the user responded with sincere gratitude and showered Mina with compliments for accommodating his unique request. In a candid moment, he revealed that she wasn't the first hero he had approached for this specific "Ahegao" selfie, but she was the first to deliver. A sense of pride swelled within Mina as she acknowledged her ability to bring joy to a fan where others had hesitated. While she fully understood why some girls might choose not to fulfill such requests, Mina found herself appreciating the opportunity to earn more points and connect with her fans. It did make her curious as to who this man had requested an image from first though, had it been one of the other U.A girls? If he came across her then surely he was looking at the other girls in the school, right?

Before she could continue that thought, she received an alert from the app, indicating that someone had "Plus Ultra'd" her – a fan had favorited her profile. What made it even more extraordinary was the realization that civilians had a restricted number of these "Plus Ultras," 10 in fact, and they could not remove their "Plus Ultra" for 30 days, and yet, someone had chosen to use one on her. The sheer thrill of the recognition left her feeling giddy, to say the least. Mina, intrigued by the notification, checked her app and discovered that it was the same man to whom she had sent the playful "Ahegao" selfie – not only had he made a unique request, but he had also chosen to mark her profile as a favorite, meaning anything Mina posts in the future would be immediately visible to the fan on his home page.

[Current Points: 255]

Should Mina thank her first "Plus Ultra" User?
