The visit

The trip to the nearest hospital is short, even on foot. You accompany Amy there, then wait for her outside the hospital, since you've never been comfortable around sick people.

When she gets out, you ask her how it went.

"Smoothly." she answered. "I told the doctor I wanted to do a full check-up because I had not done one in a few years, and he believed it immediately. I guess there is no reason for anyone that sees me to assume I am anything other than what I appeared to be: a girl like ay other."

"How do you feel about that?"

Amy sighs. "Well, it's hard to accept that everything I was as Andy has just vanished."

"I can understand that." you say, sympathetically. "That's why I got rid of my ring."

"That was probably for the best. I wish I could have done it when I had the chance." she mused.

"So, how long do we have to wait until we get the results?"

"According to the doctor, two weeks at best, over a month at worst."

"It will be all right, I'm sure of that." you tell her, trying to be reassuring.
