An end to all this crazyness

After the Christmas holidays, Margaux comes back from France; she has disposed of the ring, just like you asked.

"You know, I'm disappointed that we never found out more about the rings." she says to you. "I'm still really curious about them."

"Frankly, I hope I never see mine again." you answer. "Being Jess for a while was fun, but it isn't who I am."

Margaux shrugs. "I like you either way. I would have stayed with you even if you became her permanently, you know?"

"Thanks." you say, laughing. "But I still prefer my own body."

"Well then," she says, sending you a smouldering look. "What about we put this hot body of yours to good use?"

"Gladly!" you eagerly exclaim, following her to bed.

Weeks later, Amy's results arrive: you agree to accompany her to the hospital again.

You have noticed Amy acts, and dresses, much more demurely than she used to when she had the ring. When asked about it, she tells you that it's in part because without the influence of the ring, she doesn't feel the urge to act like a horny nymphomaniac anymore, and in part because now that this is her body forever, the consequences of her actions feel much more real somehow.

When you get into the hospital, she goes to take her results, while you wait for her in the corridor.

"So, is everything all right?" you ask her when she comes out.

"It seems I am indeed a healty young woman, except for one thing." she answers cheerfully. "I can't get pregnant."

"Oh, and I suppose you are happy about that?" you ask.

"Well, you can understand why I wasn't thrilled about the chance of that happening, but now I don't have to worry. It seems the rings were not as good at rebuilding internal organs as we thought." she ponders. "Well, at least mine wasn't. I wonder if yours wasn't as well."

"Well, I'm glad we don't have to find out."

"I can believe that." she laughs. "So, I guess this is the end of our little adventure?"

"It seems so." you agree "We can try to put this whole rings business behind us now."

"There's not much for you to be unhappy about." she says. "You can return to your life, with your fantastic French girlfriend."

"Yes," you agree. "But you have gained nothing, and lost everything you were." you add somberly.

"It's not all doom and gloom." Amy jokes. "I reapplied for college as Amy, and I will start from the next semester." she explains. "And on top of that, I have two great friends, who are going to keep including me in their fun time, will they?"

"You can bet on that." you say, laughing.

Amy hugs you tightly. "You have been a great friend, Jason." she says. "You, Margaux and I are going to have a great time for the rest of college, you'll see."
