The truth

Your family is in there...but they'll probably kill you if they think you're lying.

"No..." you respond, looking at the ground. "There's enough food and water to feed 3 people for 4 years, as well as my mom, my dad and my baby sister."

Jamal and Ronnie look at each other in astonishment. "Then why the hell are you out here?" Ronnie asks.

"Claustrophobia, and I wanted to see if civilization survived," you say.

"Well, kid, where IS this shelter?"

"Too far to reach before night, and my family will be asleep then and I don't have a code." This isn't a total fact, you DO have a code, but you really just don't want these guys getting into the base while your family sleeps.

"Alright, we'll leave in the morning then. What's your name, boy?" Ronnie asks.

"John".

"Well, John, how do we know you're not gonna just run away in the night, or take us to a trap?" Ronnie posits.

"Uhh..." you respond, genuinely stumped. You never even thought of doing that, you just keep thinking about their guns.

"I know," Jamal says, snapping his fingers. "We can..."
