The trees are good enough

The trees will have to do. You flap your wings and glide forward towards the base of the hillside. Dusk settles over the land as you make your decent down into the brush. The trees make good cover and you make your way into an open area where the roots won’t bother you. Before you can drift off to sleep you hear some rustling in the undergrowth. You raise your head and sniff the air. An unfamiliar scent fills your nose, probably from some unknown creature whose territory you have unknowingly invaded. No matter. They will have to learn that their place is beneath you (Not literaly of course). Seeing that skill and experience are not on your side...
