Melanie's tattoo may be the key to catching her interest. After all, many people tend to get tattoo's of what they find most appealing: people, places, characters, and even dates. This must be even truer for Melanie, a girl who is uncomfortable exposing her shoulders but is willing to pay a stranger to mark such a private area. What is it though? Letting my consciousness fade from Melanie's computer, I returned to my main body in order to investigate. Scouring the internet, I quickly found the image's source: a little known comic book from the 80's.

Not as mainstream as many of it's peers, this book had only been in print for a little under five years but during that time it had become something of a cult classic to a select group of people. This group spends most of their time searching for original editions of the comics and commenting on the theories that the comic left open after it's cancellation. Once again following Melanie's internet history, it wasn't hard to see that Melanie wasn't just one of these people: she owned the domain that hosted the chat.

This would be perfect. Unlike Melanie and the rest of her collector friends, I had access to millions of records and shipping logs concerning these books as well as an incredible number of collector checklists (what can I say, every nerd wanted to have an A.I. assistant) showing most of the people who held the sets. A little bit of an effort here as well as a 'recommendation' to John and who knows what I could accomplish.
