Chapter 5

Which sphere do you choose?
The silver sphere
You pick up the silver sphere and examine it more closely. With the exception of the painting of a fingerprint, there is nothing to indicate what the sphere does and whether it will help you. You know that silver was an important and valuable metal in Ancient Egypt, as in nearly every culture, and it generally represented purity, so you hope that this orb will help you. You take a deep breath, then press a finger against the sphere.
For a moment, nothing happens. You release you breath and as you do, the silver sphere starts you spin in your hand. You yell in surprise and drop it. Rather than fall to the ground, the silver sphere hovers in midair, spinning faster and faster. It also begins to glow, pulsing with a silver light. You watch, mesmerised, as the orb rises further into the air until it hovers directly in front of your eyes.
Suddenly, the silver sphere stops spinning and drops out of the air. Luckily, you have fast reflexes and catch it before it hits the ground. The moment the orb touches your flesh, you hear a loud screech from somewhere else in the pyramid. You're not sure if it's a cry of pain, anger or pleasure. The screech rises in volume until you are nearly deafened, then dies down again, leaving the pyramid silent once more.
What's next?
The Architect's Pyramid
Can you escape the curse?
You are an explorer and the first person to enter the Pyramid of Imhotep in over 4500 years. Let's hope you can escape before its curse catches up with you!
