The side street

The street leads you around the gang members, but you can’t help to feel permanently watched. The windows here are almost all boarded up, but for a moment you are absolutely sure you could see a shadow between two boards. But it disappears as soon as you turn your head. Despite this, there is not much around. However, a few meters ahead, you notice an open area with around twenty improvised huts and tents. There a smell of rotten food and **** comes from there. It must be a homeless camp, but the residents seem to be away or still sleeping.

Your mother used to treat homeless people from time to time. She said that while some of them may be drunkards, junkies or violent assholes, most are very nice people with very tragic stories. However, she never wanted you to come with her. And you are not sure how these homeless guys are. According to Eric, most people who live in the slums are ****.

There are not many options at the moment. You can either ignore this area and walk straight to the bus stop, or investigate what is going on. Maybe someone in the homeless camp can give you information. Or you confront the observer directly.
