Chapter 51 by Almax Almax

Woah....

The second lecture's all done now!

Wow. Monsters can really be so dangerous.... You politely clap as the speaker leaves the stage. So Horrouce still exists, then? It's just under the witch's control? Witches live, like, forever, so unless somebody tried to go and stop her or she got bored again then she should still be in control of it all. Maybe you can ask somebody and find out later? Anyway, that one was less cool because it wasn't about Sara Purcrux, and Sara Purcrux rocks your socks, but it was still a great reminder of why you've got to become a Warrior in the first place.

{if CamTempThing1 == True}Hey, woah! Cameron and Lexi sneak their way back into your row of seats, and you didn't even notice them, even though you were only half-heartedly clapping! They're good. When they want to be.

Lexi's got a few band-aids on her face and upper arms, and she's moving a bit stiffly, but she still greets you with a wide smile and a whispered "Hey!" as she passes you to take her seat on your right side. Cameron shuffles back into the one on your left, looking a mix of sheepish and concerned.

"What happened?" You ask Lexi concernedly, studying the remnants of whatever intense medical situation she must have undergone while you were listening to a lecture about not Sara Purcrux.

"Dude, you tell me, I wasn't even in the room for it."

As you're mentally untangling that, Cameron taps you on the shoulder.

"She's not gonna tell either of us, don't even try."

{else}"A-are they really all like this?" Cameron asks you somewhat meekly.

"Hey, come on dude, it's an important and necessary part of being a Warrior!" You say. No, wait, you don't, you were just about to, who- AAH!

Sitting in the seat to your right again is Lexi. H-how'd she get there? The aisle is on your left side, and Cameron's in the way!

"Was it worth missing by the way? I only caught the last couple of minutes. Seemed weird."

"HOW DID YOU EVEN GET HERE?!" You cry. As Lexi starts rattling off a long explanation about the birds and the bees, you take a closer look at her. There's a bunch of loose grass in her hair, and there's also a ton of tiny little cuts across her face where it looks like she got scraped by something. Still, she doesn't look sad or hurt at all.... either she really likes the birds and the bees story joke, or whatever her thing was went well for her overall. Maybe?{endif}

Before you can say anything else, your attention is drawn back to the stage. Oh, the headmaster's got the microphone, cool!

"Ladies and gentlemen." He rumbles out in his deep voice. "Thank you all for attending this year's history lectures -- I hope that you found some of the information useful. If you have any questions, feel free to follow it up with the staff or lecturers while they are still on campus. Over lunch time, we received several expressions of interest in Sara Purcrux and her story. Let it never be said that there is no learning at our school, and so many students taking such an interest certainly warmed my heart. So those of you who wish to leave may, as this concludes today's lectures, but to any who would wish to stay, we will be having our first speaker back to tell the tale of Sara Purcrux' first attempt to find her real lead cartographer -- we've covered first contact, and the dangers that monsters pose, but this story will go into the events which led Captain Purcrux to form the first group of Warriors. Either way, enjoy the rest of your day, and please get some proper sleep for your usual classes tomorrow."

Hey, that sounds right up your alley! A quick check with Cameron and Lexi tells you that they're both cool to listen if you're going to listen (Lexi's "done" for the day, and Cameron doesn't give a reason but it's probably because he'd not have anything else to do if you two are both in here). It won't take up the whole rest of the day, but it will cut into your free time quite a lot. But also, when are you gonna be able to hear this story ever again? Maybe never! Maybe soon, but probably neither of those two extremes. Anyway! Your brow is furrowed in thought and your forehead is sweaty as at last you come to a decision!

Do you decide to listen to the third and final lecture?
