The risky kind

A low rumbling growl is uttered from behind you. As you start to turn around, the lone growl erupts into a full blown chorus. An army of green-pelted wolves graces your sight. The biggest of the bunch stalks closer to you, snarling and baring its teeth.

"My my, you are a quite the bold one, aren't you?" You inquire mockingly as you place your hands on your hips and stare it down.

The beast leaps at you, but is stricken by a stray bolt of lightning that manages to weave its way through the jungle's trees on a clear-skied, sunny day.

The **** of the blast knocks it all the way passed the rest of the pack and into a tree. It smashes against it with a loud CRACK. The other wolves glance back at their pack leader, then to you, then back to the fallen leader.

Another one bounds toward you and as its teeth clamps down at your arm, an invisible wall meets it. The creature crunches down and some of its teeth shatter against the barrier, it too is then flung away.

This is the result of your divine protection at play.

Nothing can hurt THE Celestial Goddess. NOTHING.

You aren't sure if the alien wolves understand this fact, but all the same they dejectedly walk away, either deciding to live another day or that you aren't worth the effort. You shoot a smirk toward the pack leader as it gets back up with a whimper and patters away.

"What foolish beasts."

You let out a yawn. You suppose that your divine protection really took it out of you, or perhaps it was escaping a prison transport that did it.

"I should find somewhere to nap," you mutter aloud to no one in particular.

You glance ahead and see a couple of options. To your right, there's a trail with a river running alongside it that you could follow; which might lead to civilization! There's also a cave a short ways up ahead. Perhaps you could even hunker down here out in the open. It's not like anything could hurt you after all.
