The rest of the night

Despite that weird moment, and some more sideyes from Jenn, the rest of the night went on as usual.

Despite the temptation to use the artifact again, maybe on Nikah, I knew I had to be patient.

I felt the slight jolt of energy from BS a couple more times during Jenn's light teasing to customers. She returned to the Duffingtons' table a couple more time, but I also caught her caressing people's arms while serving them and leaning in to better show her body.

No one seemed to complain. Some people reacted like it was nothing, but I noticed a few that particularly enjoyed the display. Exactly as the artifact explained, whatever power it had, it affected everyone. If this was true, that probably meant all other stuff was to be trusted as well. That's why I was grinning from ear to ear when Nikah started her shift.

Nothing eventful happened at the start, but around midnight I felt the artifact warm up in my pocket.

I would have never noticed otherwise, I was still keeping an eye on Jenn, both to monitor her behavior and because I was enjoying the show she was giving.

Nikah'lan had just collected a couple of plates at a table and, by turning around, she had bumped into something.

She had almost dropped her plates and, in the manouver to prevent it from happening, fell backwards into a customer. A tall young half-elven man that bore the crest of the Slayers on his chest.

Her ass was plopped right on his crotch, with one of his hands firmly placed on it as an instinctual behavior to break her fall.

The old Nikah would have been furious. She would have moved away as fast as possible, probably cursing the gods before taking the night off.

Instead, trying to balance herself and the plates, she started grinding slowly in that precarious position, without pushing away.

In response the man started to caress, grab and move around, clearly enjoying himself.

I saw how red she was in the face, almost like she was about to turn around to apologize. But instead she lightly moaned, inviting the gentleman to further explore her ass. She turned her head around to look him in the eyes with a smile I swear I had never seen on her.

Where Jenn had been confident and a natural all night, Nikah was clearly embarrassed by the situation, so she was acting playful and meek while still carrying the ideals imprinted by the artifact.

The two of them remained there for at least thirty seconds, before the guy removed his hands from her cheeks and nodded politely. Nikah got up and carried on with her shift, like nothing had happened.

At around two in the morning I was left alone in the room. Only a drunk guy, snoring loudly on the counter was keeping me company.

The two waitresses had both finished their shift, all customers but this drunkard had gently been invited to leave the tavern or rent a room upstairs, and I was on graveyard duty. No better time to check the artifact, I suppose.

Under that there was both Jenn and Nikah's name, telling me they were the only ones with the belief at the moment. Judging at the speed that Nikah was infected it shouldn't take long for Katnia and Zaavi to also appear in the list.

I was excluded, which for a part felt good, as being included in the mind control was not in my future plans.

On the other hand, it made me worry how would the others see it if I didn't act on the belief as well. Would I stick out like a sore thumb?

Once I had a consistent BS pipeline that shouldn't be an issue anymore. I could just talk my way out of it.
