Chapter 28 by SingingLark SingingLark

should Liandra accept these peasants as her newest companions?

The rebellion starts.

Liandra gladly took the peasants in, it would be impossible for them to go back to their old lives now that the soldiers were slaughtered in their very village. She took them into the forest, and together they built a hidden base.

"Your race is soft and noisy" one of her wolves complained, and Liandra agreed. These people weren't humanity at their best. But they had useful intel. They knew when and where guard patrols usually went, and they were very important in spreading the word that their real princess was back. Together they freed three additional villages, and Liandra's movement increased. But as her small army got stronger, Liandra's health began to get worse.

First it was just nausea. She woke up one day feeling disoriented, and the effect took a long while to pass. Then it was tiredness. She still put an effort to pull her own weight, she had enough useless humans in her group. Then the awful mood swings. She began to be snappy. And it was only when her very breasts started to ache that a wise woman spotted her problem.

"You should ease up, princess. You are pregnant" She said with the voice that had already told the news dozens of times. The princess was shocked, and had to ask her many questions to be sure.

"But I never... he didn't... I stopped him before he..." She tried to recollect the events. Didn't she stop her prey before they came? she was so sure, but the old lady laughed at the idea "You youngsters... where do you get these ideas? men don't cum all at once, and you can get pregnant during the entire intercourse. If you really wanted to avoid getting pregnant, you should have talked to me before being intimate"

Pregnant. She tried to tell herself that didn't change anything, so she started to take even greater risks. More aggressive in freeing the surrounding villages. More daring in attacking supply carts. The band of refugees became an army. So it was unavoidable that they would, eventually, face a real army.

It was bloody work, and the cost was great. The ragtag band wasn't a real match for trained soldiers, but the winter wolves tipped the battle to the rebels side. Liandra herself was wounded, her strength failing her in the middle of the battlefield.

Who does Liandra pick to lead while she is wounded?
