The real Cheetah tracked her scent and interrogated her

"What am I gonna do?! There's no way Bruce will recognize me like this..."

Of all people for her to randomly turn into, why did it have to be the weird female furry supervillain?

"There you are!"

A familiar voice snarled.

Jason looked over her shoulder, her feline nose picking up an unmistakable scent. One that was identical to her own.

There stood Barbara Minerva, the true Cheetah. Her claws fully extended. Her eyebrows furrowed with confusion, yet anger resided in her eyes.

"You have five seconds to explain why you look like me!"

Cheetah growled, lunging at Jason and pounced on her, tackling her into a pin.

"Start talking!"

The villainess threateningly slid a claw next to Jason's face.

"Shit..."

Jason muttered.

"Hey, listen, lady, I don't know how I wound up like this. I was normal a minute ago!"

Jason omitted the part about the dial and her true identity as the Red Hood. The villain didn't need to know she was dealing with a vigilante.

"You didn't seek the ritual of Urzkartaga?"

"Urz-what-a?"

"Fool! Do you have any idea the level of power you're in possession of?"

Cheetah huffed, releasing Jason. Her eyes wandered to the night sky.

"Strange. You couldn't have performed the ritual... the moon is not full."

"What the hell does that have to do with anything?"

Jason scampered to her feet as she listened intently.

"When I first obtained this form, I could only become Cheetah once every full moon. My mortal form became weak and frail as a result of me not meeting the exact criteria for the ritual."

Cheetah gestured to the waxing crescent moon overhead.

"Only through the aid of my ally, Circe, could I gain the power to change between this form and my mortal self at will."

"Uh huh..."

Jason didn't know a thing about magic. Her only real encounter with it was when she was resurrected but her memories leading up to her **** and shortly after her rebirth were blurry at best.

"Which is why I find it peculiar that you are able to be in this form despite the moon not being full. You seem unacquainted with your Cheetah body, given how awkward and off balance you are."

"Hey! I'm... on balance."

"Barely. You will now do exactly as I say or I will claw you to shreds. Understand?"

Jason didn't take too kindly to being threatened. Instead of feeling fear, she frowned at the villainess. She had no leverage in this situation. Cheetah was infinitely more experienced than her when it came to fighting in her Cheetah form.

"Fine..."

"Good. I want you to focus on returning to your human form. Think of nothing else. Just how you would look as your normal self."

Was she trying to help? Or was she just trying to figure out who Jason really was? Either way, she didn't have a choice but to comply.

Jason focused like Cheetah instructed. Slowly, her fur began to recede as her catlike features dissipated.
