Chapter 4
by SingingLark
She wonders with who’m she’d best start a conversation with.
The range, the elf and the warlock...
"Excuse me... would you mind if I join you?" She approached the rangeress, the elf and the warlock, and they interrupt their discussion. It is the warlock who speaks first.
"By the flames of the Abyss, I swear I wont be working with a good-doer priestess" But the elf jumps right after "how can you turn down such a divine grace? it would be a crime, and I for one don't want to hang for it. Besides, Altima dear is still healing from her wounds, right?"
"You arent going to use me as an excuse to drag with us another novice, Nariel. I am tired of hearing you tryi ..." Liandra was getting lost in their batter, and she interrupts "I just wanted to sit, I am not a priest."
It didn't get any better, but she was accepted at the table, and each of the adventurers had much to say. Liandra often found herself giggling at Nariel´s roguish charm, or Calcifer shallow evil remarks, and even on the salt of the earth common sense in Altima´s words. And they found Liandra´s generosity with the tab equally appealing, so everyone was happy.
That was when a wizened old man entered the tavern, his tall hat marked him a wizard. His words of woe and danger got everyone´s attention " And the key to unlock this is this book... ugh... my shoulder..." The wizard had a heart attack in front of everyone, and there was nothing that could be done. And worse, the book was in a language that none of the adventurers could understand... it seemed as if they could do nothing to stop this danger.
But when Liandra glanced at the book she could read the letters! They though the strange markings were words, but in fact it was a music book.
Should Liandra go into an adventure?
