Chapter 71 by bla12
What's next?
The promised vacation begins.
The private jet took off into a sky of immaculate blue. For Magi, that ascent was not an escape, but the unfolding of a strategy that had begun long before boarding the plane. Cerberus Island was not the mythological hell of shadows, but a dreamlike expanse designed for absolute isolation: turquoise waters, blinding white sand, and a glass villa sprouting from the rock.
From the first day, upon crossing the villa's threshold, Magi decided that Cadet Rojas would not set foot on that island. While Adrián reviewed reports on the terrace, she went to her room and opened her suitcase. She didn't look for comfortable clothes or discreet garments; she pulled out the small silk box containing her statement of intent: a micro bikini made of black strings, a designer piece so minimalist it defied any concept of shyness.
Putting it on, she looked in the mirror with analytical coldness. The thin straps dug slightly into her hips, and the fabric barely covered the essentials, leaving the lash mark on her thigh fully exposed, glistening under the first layer of tanning oil. She didn't feel naked; she felt armed. She walked out to the pool area with a confidence that **** every gaze to stop on her.
Adrián looked up from his glass of wine, his eyes roaming Magi’s figure with an intensity that would have intimidated anyone. But she held his gaze as she settled onto the lounger.
"I see you’ve come prepared for the Cerberus sun, Magda," he remarked with a predatory smile. "A much more interesting uniform than the police one."
"In this place, clothes only get in the way, Adrián," she replied in a measured voice, closing her eyes under the sun. "I like feeling in control, even over my own skin."
The following days were a choreography of luxury and assessment. Under the relentless sun, Magi turned her nearly uncovered body into a tool of distraction and power. On the morning of the third day, Valeria approached the pool. She wore a sheer caftan, but her gaze lingered with clinical satisfaction on Magi’s figure, who continued to wear that black micro bikini—which already felt like a second skin—with pride.
"Adrián is right, you have excellent taste for proportions," Valeria commented, placing two cocktails on the table. "Black suits you. It highlights that 'city girl' paleness you still have, though the sun is starting to leave its mark."
Magi sat up, feeling the sea breeze on her abdomen and thighs. The lack of clothing did not make her feel disarmed; on the contrary, she felt she had nothing to hide because she was the one in control of the situation.
"I’m bored," Valeria continued. "Tell me, Magda... how was it really with Lorenzo? It must have been exciting to deceive a professional of that caliber while pretending to be naive."
Magi felt her instincts go on guard, but her body remained relaxed, almost indolent.
"It wasn't exciting, it was technical," Magi replied carefully, ignoring how Valeria’s gaze dissected every inch of her skin. "Your brother handled the timing with mastery. I was just the bait he placed with precision. Lorenzo saw what I wanted him to see."
"Oh, you’re humble, that’s charming," Valeria laughed. "But you managed to get a trained agent to lower his guard for you. That requires something more than technique." Her eyes locked onto Magi’s. "Did you ever feel anything for him? Or did this body, which now shows itself with such freedom, have any moment of doubt?"
Beneath the transparency of the black strings, Magi felt her truth was as solid as the island’s rock.
"No," Magi denied, and her own coldness comforted her. "He was a target. An obstacle to Adrián’s interests. Feelings are a luxury someone in my position cannot afford if they want to survive."
Valeria studied her for a long minute, observing the firmness of her voice and the stillness of her nearly naked body. Finding no trace of doubt, she smiled with a flash of approval.
"That’s what I like about you, Magda. You’re practical. You know that at this level, business is the only religion, and your body is the currency that you yourself decide how to spend." She rose elegantly. "I’m going to find my brother. Enjoy the sun."
That night, during the al fresco dinner, Magi doubled down on her bet. She wore a mesh dress that barely concealed the black micro bikini she had worn since the first day. Adrián served her wine personally and let his hand rest on her waist, brushing the skin that the strings left bare.
"Valeria gave me an excellent report today," he whispered into Magi’s ear. "She says you’ve finally understood the natural order of things. That Magda has taken total control and the cadet has accepted her new destiny."
Magi kept her eyes fixed on her glass, seeing her reflection in the dark liquid. The micro bikini, the mark on her thigh, and Adrián’s gaze were now her only reality.
"Yes. I’ve understood," she stated. "Cadet Rojas died the day I set foot on this island. Only Magda remains."
"I’m glad to hear it," Adrián said with a triumphant smile. "Because Cerberus has served its purpose. Tomorrow we return to the city, and I have a mission for you that will require all that coldness and confidence you’ve shown me since you arrived."
The island was a paradise, but for Magi, it was the place where she had learned that her chosen nakedness was her greatest weapon. She was ready to return, but no longer as an infiltrator, but as the woman she herself had sculpted between the sand and the desire for power.
