Chapter 7 by ConnieCane ConnieCane

What's behind the door?

The priest's office

As you take a seat, you glance around the room, taking in the ornate decorations and the beautiful stained glass windows. The sunlight streaming through the windows casts a kaleidoscope of colors across the room, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. You can hear the soft sound of the priest's prayer as he kneels before a small altar at the front of the room, his head bowed in reverence.

After a few moments, the other man finishes his prayer and rises to his feet. He turns to you with a warm smile, his eyes twinkling with kindness. "Welcome, my child," he says in a deep, melodic voice. "I am Bishop Gerald. It's a pleasure to meet you."

You nod politely, feeling a bit intimidated by his presence. You've never met a cardinal before, and his imposing figure and regal robes make him seem almost otherworldly. You wonder why Pater Franc has brought you to meet him and what he could possibly want from you. Please log in to view the image

As the man rises to his feet, the priest leans in and whispers something in his ear. They both approach you, and the priest says. "You are very fortunate that he is here today. Jesus answered his prayer for a sinner to save! How could we have known you would come to us to confess your sins? Amen," the priest declares with a fervent tone. You follow them to a pedestal with an open Bible in front of the window. Bishop Gerald points to it and says, "First, we need to get back to the basics. You will read the Bible out loud. The devil may try to tempt and possess you, but you must keep reading. We will help you learn to control your sinful desires."

You feel a shiver run down your spine, unsure of what to expect. The two clergymen stand on either side of you, their eyes closed as they begin to chant in unison. You start to read, the words feeling foreign and unfamiliar on your tongue. As you progress, you feel a strange sensation in the pit of your stomach, as though something is watching you. But you persevere, determined to overcome your demons.

After what feels like an eternity, Bishop Gerald nods in approval and pats you on the shoulder. "Good job, my child. Now, let us begin your journey to redemption."

What do you do?
