The party continues

You head back out to the main roar of the party, out into the halls. You hurry to find a drink, grabbing a can of beer and quickly taking a gulp.

"What's your poison, doll?" you ask.

"I'd sooner die than have another drop," Caoimhe says. "Coke, please."

You grab a bottle of coke, uncapping it and lifting it to your nose. You take a whiff, wincing.

"Fuck me, that has been spiked to shit," you say, before turning and grabbing an unopened can of coke and tossing it to Caoimhe.

"Are you sure you haven't had enough to drink?" Caoimhe asks.

"I can't know what point to stop drinking until I'm well past it. Usually not until the morning after."

"I just don't want to have to drag you back to your room after you pass out," Caoimhe says. "I want to enjoy the night. With you."

"Don't worry, I'm fine. You've no reasons to be worried."

"I just don't want you to turn into a drunk like one of those assholes," Caoimhe says, nodding over to the side.

You turn, staring over at the group Caoimhe's gesturing at. Lukas, Ben and Daniel sit in the corner, chugging down beers through the use of a funnel. You're half impressed they're not doing it via their asshole.

"Ugh, I hate when people get like that," Caoimhe says. "They're so drunk they're not even themselves anymore."

"Yeah, you'd have to be some kind of asshole to hang out with dip-shits like that," you say in mock disgust. "Seriously, only the lowest of the low would hang out with them. Want to go do that?"

"Why?" Caoimhe asks.

"Oh, they're my mates. And roommates," you say.

"Oh. I didn't mean they're bad people or anything, I don't know them nearly well enough to judge."

"I know them very well, and they're awful people. Still, so am I, and you like me."

"Sorry for insulting your friends," Caoimhe says. "They're just very drunk. Like incredibly drunk. We can go talk to them if you like."
